Highly recommend this hotel. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Hotel is very close to the port and the local amenities. Breakfast available which is basic but more that adequate consisting of local food and produce. Rooms are well maintained with good air conditioning. We really enjoyed our stay.

Nice building. Clean, friendly staff helped us with how to get luggage in and out in the early morning to catch ferry. Stayed in "petite" unit which was good for our one night stay to catch an early ferry. Convenient to port and all of the restaurants, etc. on port.

The room was beautifully decorated and very clean. The staff was very nice and welcoming especially Irene! Great location. The place is steps away from the main square and restaurants and Walking distance to the port. My only complaint was the steep climb to the reception desk.

The hotel is clean. Staff was friendly. Having a safe and small fridge in the room was very nice Location convenient to the port. Balkony on our first floor room was literary on the street and there is no privacy next room balkony is right next to us separated by a low gate Our 2 beds room was crowded with the two beds everything was bear minimum desk too small to use two tea bags electric plug hard to use with coffee maker taking all the space on the same tiny desk poor quality soups lack of design or thought just bear minimum feels like a dorm Breakfast is overpriced not worth it Souna is 30 euros per person Pictures look better than the reality Just OK

A blessing by chance. We missed our stop at Mykonos and had to detour to Ikaria. On the spot booked this hotel. We arrived and throughout our stay, we fell in love. Irene was the most sweetest and helpful person. The people of the town, also so nice and friendly. A beautiful hotel, accommodating, and a simple nice breakfast. We can't express how grateful we are to Irene...and if you need a taxi, we recommend Stelios. Just ask around, you'll get his number. He's well known, helpful and honest.

Atheras was a nice little hotel, but all the amentities are not actually available. They do not have a restaurant that is open, nor a bar. They only offer the paid breakfast in the morning. The elevator is not for people, but luggage only, and the only way to get into the hotel is up stairs, which was difficult for my mom. The pool is actually quite small. Much of the hotel seemed as though it is not used in a long time. The jacuzzi and sauna are only available if you pay for them, and they have to give them notice so they can heat them up. We got a massage through the spa and our hair was completely covered in oil. The lady was nice, but the massage wasn't anything special. We did book ahead of time for the massage. The night lady was very helpful, but the lady during the day seemed like we were bothering her when we asked for directions or help. The hotel is at the bottom of a steep hill, so don't follow Google maps to get there. You will need to go around by the pier/plaza and then come from that direction. I walked the area to figure out the little streets to get to the parking, but there was plenty. The beds were comfortable and the air conditioning worked. We were given only a sheet, but there were blankets available in the closet. There was no good swimming in the ocean readily available, it was down a little ways as the port took up most of the space nearby. There were not many restaurant options either. It is a very small town. Not much for tourists.

1. I never met a member of their staff. At 1PM Atheras messaged me inadequate instructions for self checkin. I am a 68 yo female who had to haul 65 lbs of luggage up 3 flights of stairs before I explored the 3rd floor to find a luggage lift. 2. The room had not been aired, and the mildew odor was migraine inducing. I tracked it to an old stone and mortar ventilation shaft used to ventilate the bathroom through fixed louvers. I am sensitive to black mold and I got exactly 2 hours of sleep with a sick headache. I’m pretty sure they’re not meeting any healthcare regulations standards from anywhere. I kept the bathroom door closed to minimize exposure to the mildew/mold, so Toilet use only. I left the room at 4:30 to get out of the bad air. Again, never saw a soul that worked there. 3. The room had a very strange setup. I literally had to move furniture to plug-in the teapot. I had to go out and buy a bottle of water since there wasn’t even a comp bottle left on n the room. 4. Probably because of the ventilation shaft, sound carries like people are in the room with you. Every time some guy would check in to his room near midnight and call his wife, I woke up and knew everything about the call. I don’t know who’s writing all the glowing reviews but I’m wondering if they’re “unverified”
