House was clean, great location. Ocean is literally in the back yard, you just can’t see it from inside or the patio but walk 20 feet across the backyard and there it is. We had a small puppy with us so more yard worked out perfectly.

This was a great area and nice townhome right on the beach. I was disappointed that the fenced in area I saw in pictures was not fenced in. I thought that was misleading. Pics should be updated. Other than that, no complaints.

Townhome is a little weathered but great location — short walk to the beach. It’s in a section of Indialantic with a very long and quiet stretch of beach. Restaurants in main part of town are a short walk away. Neighborhood across the street was nice and safe for a leisurely bicycle ride. Joanie addressed minor concerns quickly.

Good spot for a quiet beach vacation

We preferred the end-unit privacy and ocean view. Unit had everything we needed. Fully enjoyed our 10 day stay and hated to leave.

A perfect getaway for a small younger family

If you have a young family of four this may be the ideal getaway. The beach location is great, and the bedrooms include a king (upstairs) and queen (downstairs) setup along with a single bed in a separate upstairs bedroom. There are TVs in the main den and both master bedrooms. Table seating for 4 adults is provided along with a large wrap around couch that can seat 6 or more. Outdoors includes a table, with umbrella, for 4 along with added seating for others on a patio deck - helpful in wet weather. Beach access is adjacent to the property. If you are a "senior citizen", as we are, keep in mind that the large wrap around couch is set very low to the ground with deep seating surfaces, making it a bit challenging to use, and there are no ADA grab bars in the showers. Also, the upstairs area requires 14 steps to access. There is no direct view of the ocean, nor is there an upstairs balcony to overlook it. Still, the property is well supplied - lots of pots/pans/etc and the property manager, Joannie, is very responsive and tries to help satisfy any request. She got extra blankets for us (the weather was unseasonably cold), and had the internet/TV repaired promptly. Keep in mind that taxes/fees/insurance totaled almost 600 - nearly 30% of the base room fee. This isn't the owner's fault, but something to consider when budgeting your trip expenses.

Wonderful!

Such a nice place to stay, with really convenient access to the beach. Very well stocked, super comfortable space, extremely kind hosts. Hope to stay here again sometime.

Surf Shack

In no way does this reflect on the host, Joanie Sheperd, who we had good communication with, but on the property owner, the carpet up the stairs and hallway were old and smelt moldy, the vent in the upstairs bedroom had mildew and stains, the AC filter had not been changed and was dirty, we changed it ourselves, the windows had bubbling around them showing signs of moisture, the upstairs shower/bath would not turn cold, just trickled out of the shower head. Carpet is never a good idea when pets are allowed, it caused me headaches and coughing from allergies. If these changes were made and fixed, Surf Shack would be a fun and cute place to stay.

We truly enjoyed our stay. Place was very cute and private. Was able to see some of the ocean from the couch. I watched the sunrise every morning. Did have a lot of dump truck noise from the road but there is a lot of construction going on around area. All in all, we would stay again.

It's all about the beach!

This was our second stay at the Surf Shack and it was even better then the first. The owners/Joanie have made numerous improvements and it appears they will continue to do so. Communicating with Joanie was easy and you typically got a response back to your question(s) in about 15 minutes or less. I love the fact that you are close enough to the downtown restaurants that you can walk. The beach is not too busy and was the perfect place to be able to observe a night launch from Cape Canaveral. Love this place!

Great location, nicely furnished

We really liked the condo and it was perfect for our needs. The location was excellent, close to shops, restaurants, the beach, and friends. The unit was very clean, the only reason for the 4 star rating for cleanliness was the upstairs carpeting was stained and very dirty. It really detracted from the overall charm of the unit. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Great Little Retreat

I grew up down the street from this property and it was exactly the right place and amount of room for the two of us to have available while in town visiting family. Just a quick walk out the back door to the beach and everything you need to be comfortable. It has space for two couples and, while we didn’t bring a pet, it is definitely a dog friendly neighborhood. Parking was convenient, right outside front door and the host was timely in her response to inquiries about a few things.

Visiting my daughter at the beach

We came to the area to visit my daughter who moved down in June. The property had a nice porch area and was steps to the beach. Loved the ability to see the sunrise every morning. Used the grill twice and made smoothies. My daughter stayed over one night which was handy there were two bedrooms. We would definitely stay there again.

Comfortable Stay

We traveled with our 2 small dogs. Property is older, but has lovely updates. Great location. Quiet neighborhood with plenty of shopping and eating options. Fully furnished kitchen. Gas and charcoal grills on patio. Easy access to clean, beautiful beach. Will definitely consider staying again.

Great location for all the things we love to do!

We had a great time staying here. We loved the location on the beach and near all the things we love to do in the area. We stayed here to "pretend" we live there as we intend to move to that area in a year or so. This gave us the full picture of what it's like to live there. We didn't cook while there so we can't speak to the kitchen functionality or the cleanliness of the pots and pans, etc., but they have redone the kitchen recently, so it is nice looking and likely very "user friendly". The only thing I would knock on this is that the toilet paper supply was ridiculously low. We did have to go buy our own to get through an entire week there. While I get that it is not a hotel, leaving only 1 full roll is a bit stingy. Other than that, we loved it and would recommend it to couples and small families.
