“We stayed for 2 weeks last year and 3 weeks this time. We have already asked for 4 weeks next year! Neither fashionable nor modern (the refrigerator is vintage 1970), it is the quiet respite we love and the location for daily drives and coffee looking out at Clew Bay. The housekeeper has made a huge difference in its upkeep, treated us as “her wee Americans” and gave us fabulous ideas for things to do, including Clew Bay Charters. We will count the days until we return.”

“Clean and adorable home with everything we needed. Check in was clear and host communication was excellent. The home had everything we needed, location was quiet and situated perfectly for climbing Croagh Patrick and exploring Clare Island.”

“We had an enjoyable stay in the cottage. There is a lot of useful information material, but some information was outdated (WiFi password, name and number of the local manager, number of the proprietor). This made it difficult to contact manager or proprietor when we encountered a problem. Once contact was established, the problem was resolved smoothly. There is a nice 8 km walk starting from the cottage, the finest part of which is a stretch of coastline that is only accessible at low tide.……

“Home decor was lovely , lovely linen, lots of space . Felt very comfortable staying there. Location superb - short car drive from everywhere. Few minor issues which have been feed back to owner - grubby laundry and main bathroom - ensuite was lovely , bins full.”

“Cabin is adorable and location is beautiful. However, the owner says the heat goes on in “am and pm” which is a stretch. The heat goes on for about an hour in the evening and in the morning. The cabin is the sane temperature as the outside. It was 9 degrees centigrade and the little coal stove could not warm the bedrooms, kitchen or bathroom. We had to check out early and find a hotel because our kids were freezing. I tried to contact the owner when we arrived but did not answer the phone. Just……

“Lovely picturesque setting and very convenient. Our room was spacious but the bed was very uncomfortable - hard and lumpy as were the pillows. I think it’s probably due for a refurbishment. The breakfast was ok but not good for celiac or vegetarians. The spa was also closed for refurbishment. ”
