"They said the cooker was broken however we feel that they should have had someone to repair it asap. We understood there was no Tv or wifi but in this day and age anything is possible even if you have to raise the price. We were not told about electricity that it was a key meter it was only when an alarm was going off we traced it to electric box to find there was only 50p left on it we put key on and it added another £15 which went nowhere these are very expensive devices. The Royal Hotel Tain

8/10 Good

"We enjoyed our stay in Tain and were delighted with the large room, four poster bed and antique furniture. The bathroom had perhaps seen better days but was perfectly adequate. Staff were polite , friendly and very helpful and breakfast and dinner portions very generous."

"Driving up hotel is very impressive, lovely lawns, boar and deer statues scattered around and 2 wolfhounds guarding entrance Our hotel room and bathroom were massive with lovely views. Food was not available but staff would help you order in from local takeaway restaurants a d would supply crockery and cutlery. Limited menu in evening but was of excellent flavour and presentation. Beautiful lounge to relax in with some information about history of family who had owned it. Staff were very friendly and helpful especially VJ. Would highly recommend a stay here, too many of theses lovely country houses have disappeared."

"Tuckers Inn is quite delightful. Our room was small, given the fact that we had way too much luggage (and there is no elevator). But the room was very clean and the bathroom modern, which is a big plus. The food is more than decent and the view delightful. But the best feature was extremely nice and helpful staff. We can't say enough about the nice staff at Tuckers Inn."
