Great Villa in Isla

Short walk to North Beach and DT. Lots of space for larger groups or families. Would definitely stay here again

The risk of a 5-star review is too many superlatives, but that's not possible when reviewing Gordon's wondrous Villa Amistad in Isla Mujeres. This was flat out the best vacation rental of my life, and I am 68! No box checked is less than 5 stars: lots of prearrival emails to make sure we knew what the process was - someone met us at the door (friendly Omar) and explained all the details of the residence - Julia, our designated concierge, was invaluable (and always responsive on very short notice) in coordinating fun activities during our stay - Stacy, our prime contact from the property manager was always speedily responsive when we needed any questions answered - and Gordon, the property manager (owner?) was a font of useful tips, especially, the best places to eat. As for the unit itself, it is beautifully and brilliantly designed to optimize living areas and amazing bedrooms - with a fun to live in combination kitchen dining area and sunken living room, all with the best views on the island... and lots of bathrooms (3 1/2). Kept very clean by daily maid service except on Sunday... I'm sure there are many more things I could say, but I don't want to be too redundant.When we next return to the island this will be the only place we consider if it's available.

Villa Amistad - Everything we expected!! Except for Beryl...

Villa Amistad was perfect! Exactly as described, perfect for family and friends vacation! Location was great, whole north end of Isla was walkable and the morning sunrises were the best!! Our only issues were when Beryl hit, which there was nothing the host could do about that or that we lost power. It was a rough last 24 hours, but the host was communicating with us constantly checking on us, prepped as best they could and advised us on what to do. I would recommend Villa Amistad to anyone looking for a larger rental and Gordan, Stacy and Julia were great to assist us with everything we needed!!

Gorgeous view!

My family of 8 had a lovely stay at this property. It was spacious and in a great location in town (3-5 minute walk to the ferry dock, restaurants and shopping. It is a duplex so you will share the pool with the neighbors (if it is rented) but that was never a problem for us. Seems we were on different schedules and not using the pool at the same time. There are private decks for sitting as well on the second floor and rooftop with gorgeous views. The concierge service was nice- we used the grocery shopping and had the house stocked with food before we arrived. Two of the bedrooms have openings in the walls or above the doors so, while you can’t see into the rooms, you can hear noise from elsewhere in the house when sleeping in these rooms. Something to keep in mind if you’re a louder group or are on very different sleep schedules. It was not a problem for us. We received excellent communication with the property manager. We had a few small issues and questions and they were addressed immediately. I would recommend this property for the spaciousness, views and proximity to town as well as excellent customer service by the property manager, concierge and owners.Thanks for a wonderful stay!
