The hotel was fine and the staff was excellent BUT when they arranged the transport to the airport for our flight they did not ask us which airport (Istanbul has 2 large airports, IST and SAW) . We did not know this, we were delivered to IST (the wrong airport - and we had showed them the tickets) and had to rush by taxi to the SAW and missed the flight and luckily were able to purchase tix to another flight that day. This error/oversight cost us about $700 and could have been elevated had the hotel simple asked "which airport." Other then that, I would give the hotel a solid 4 star

The front of house staff which were available to support 24hours, were very friendly and helpful - excellent customer service. The room was spacious, clean and kept to a high modern standard. The room has a mini bar, with alcoholic (beers) and soft drinks. The bed mattress was on the firm side but worked for me as I much prefer it. The breakfast was also good, as a buffet type you get a choice between hot and cold food (or both). The hotel is in a superb location only 6mins walk to Sultanahmet Square and at close proximity to restaurants and bars. Public transport (tram) is also a few mins walk. I would highly recommend.

Our room got flooded when it rained, the staff was so rude except for one man that worked in the lobby. The staff that works at the breakfast area does not smile at all even when you say good morning. The staff at the lobby will not even greet you because they are so busy on their phones. Great breakfast.staff, and location, but NOISY! We heard everything! The people talking/yelling in rooms around us, other toilets flushing, doors slamming, etc. I'm not sure if it was becasue we were on the first floor, but it was VERY NOISY. Also, we couldn't get the AC to work (well) and the room often got warm and stuffy- and they did show us how to work the thermostat, but it didn't really help.

Sehr zentral gelegen, wichtige Sehenswürdigkeiten in 5-10 Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Personal sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Frühstück reichlich, aber bei längerem Aufenthalt immer das Gleiche. Zimmergröße passt auch. Täglich neue Handtücher und tägliche Reinigung.

We checked-in at about 4 A.M. 26th DEC and we were very very tired after 14 hour from Tokyo to London & transit + 41/2 flight to Istanbul as our BA flight arrived at 27th DEC 13.45A.M. No chauffeur car to welcomed us at Airport for some unknown reason. The worst thing for our room#404 door lock will not lock from inside.I had to return to check-in and ask for a new room as Safety & Security is paramount & very important in foreign hotel. The night manager said tomorrow. We were in no state to argue as we were too fatigued to argue by then. Your Guest Relations Manager Burhan Gursoy left a welcome message for us and I complained about the DOOR LOCK! I believe this is ILLEGAL in UK & Europe & Japan NOT to have a "Proper safe & secure lock in your room". We had to worry every time even when there was cleaner's noise hoovering the rooms on our floor rooms. We stayed Carina Gold 26th-29th December 2025. The Manager promised that he will move us to another room on the 2nd night. On 28th December we came back very cold drenched in rain at 1800 from Topkapi Palace. I virtually had to drag the night manager to see for himself our unlockable door for room #404. There was no word of offering about moving to a new room.By that time all we wanted a hot shower to recover. On 29th when we checked out, I again complained to Guest Relations Manager Burhan Gursoy about the lock. I still cannot understand why they gave the unusable room for a couple travelling all the way from Tokyo! Terrible!
