Staff was friendly and accommodating. Rooms and hotel were well maintained. Pool area was pretty, however it was really crowded and loud. The cabanas were functional for families with little kids, but obstructed the ocean view for others.
The room was clean. We had an ocean view that was spectacular. All the staff were great, from the staff that greet you, the front desk staff, maids, and wait staff. All very friendly and went out of theirvway to help.
Room was decent. We opted out of the breakfast as it was crazy expensive and there really good restaurants much cheaper across the street. Even with the discount the drinks poolside were expensive. Hotel caters to a local clientele.

The staff were amazing -so glad they won their union rights in Dec! Very grateful for any time staff or guests spent time helping us with our Spanish. We experienced wonderful massages on Christmas Day and the food was fun! Always a good taco to be had. Loved the 1978 buildings architecture. Ixtapa shopping is conveniently right across the street.
The staff was great. The water in the sink was hot. The water in the shower on the other hand was no where near hot. Had a cold shower everyday. The weather was fantastic. Hot everyday, lots of shops and restaurants to go to right across tge street from our resort.

Liked: Cleanliness, amenities
The staff was excellent, however if it's the hotel's goal to increase English speaking people as patrons, a few more staff should be taught English. The building isn't insulated very well so noise travels easily but for the most part we had a good experience.
All the Staff were the best since the beginning of the stay: very kind, attentive and respectful. Room also very clean, amenities were great. Food delicious too! I’m not giving 5 stars just because I think the amount of rooms of the hotel is not equivalent to the amenities. Even though I didn't feel crowded and the only place I felt it was in the elevator. I think ratio it’s crazy!
I have stayed at Hotel Emporio many times and it is the superb service and attention by the staff that warrants my return to the hotel. From the bellboys and reception, to the maid service and the restaurant and pool area workers, everybody is always smiling and offering their assistance with anything that I may need or want. This serves to make my vacation stay absolutely wonderful. I particularly enjoy eating a breakfast with a beautiful view of the ocean and eating a fish or seafood dinner on the terrace of the Arrecife restaurant and admiring the starlit sky and relaxing in the tranquility of the evening. Although these highlights were somewhat interrupted, for me and the other guests, by the closure of the main buffet restaurant for two days, the staff was amazing and is to be commended in their flexibility and resilience in dealing with the uncomfortable and inconvenient situation of the restaurant painting.
The hotel staff was outstanding. Very helpful and professional. Drinks ver week

The place was older than expected, the staff was good although spoke little English so a few misunderstanding along the way. The pool was nice but overly crowded and extremely loud. The corner suite was spacious though the air conditioning smelled musty.
I did not realize that this was a loud party hotel.
It was old and dirty. Pool was murky. Room was dirty.
Strike happened the day after we got there
The staff were EXCELLENT in getting us booked into another hotel since the hotel was shutting down due to the strike. Thank you to the staff.
We stayed at las Brissas a much cleaner and well maintained hotel.
We stayed here for 5 nights from Oct.11 - Oct 15 and extended it through the 16th. We had an oveanview king room on the 7th floor. This was our 2nd year to stay here. The rooms are clean, the bathroons are generously sized, showers had great pressure. We didn't eat at the restaurants for any meals as we were visiting family and ate our meals with them. They had entertainment every night and the bartender makes a great margarita. We will definitely be staying again next year.
We liked most of the staff…but…
Our room was old, worn out. The whole interior needs an upgrade…public spaces as well: elevators, etc.
Recreational facilities like an enormous basketball court was never used and could be changed into pickleball courts, for example, which are in high demand in the hotel next door. Missed potential.
Our biggest complaint is the NOISE!! Music never ends poolside, families book private parties that overtake the place with people and excessively LOUD music that doesn’t end until midnight.
The place lacks sophistication.
Food is not memorable, is just OK. And, if you want to eat between 11:30-1:00 you can’t. Birds flying in restaurant, eating the scraps of food.
Lounge chairs by pool and on the beach crowded together.
We would not stay here again.
The service was exceptional. The breakfast omelets were fabulous. Rosa in animation was enthusiastic! Abigail and Gina in reception were delightfully welcoming. Julian and Jesus were terrific bellboys. Itzel was pleasant and helpful with assorted issues. Although there are a couple of new bicycles, they still need MORE new bicycles. The air conditioning was a blessing as it was particularly humid this visit. The beach was super clean and the lounge chairs and umbrellas were great for sunbathing and enjoying the days and the sunsets. I always thoroughly enjoy my stays at Hotel Emporio and I will continue to do so on future visits. The staff is dedicated to making everything wonderful for me as a guest and I truly appreciate all of their smiles and kind gestures in serving me.

its a family place to stay rooms are ok and nothing special. a lil out dated but for the price its good. we only got breakfast with our stay and there was only one different dish everyday, other than that everything else is the same every day. theres many walking restaurants close by. they have nice kids pools with slides that was fun for them but pools need to be cleaned better cause water looks dirty and ur swim gear will smell bad. they have entertainment every day starting around 9pm which was fun. Would i stay here again...... just adults i dont think so, with kids maaaaaybeee.

We visited in November. Well, it only interrupted our sleep. One night, we are generally good at sleeping with noise, there was regular dance music coming from the nearby property. We do enjoy meeting other guests and this hotel at this time of year is completely focussed on local guests. So if you would like to meet other visitors from English speaking countries at this time of year, it did not seem to be an option. There are English speaking staff, but many of the staff also do not really speak English. Because this is an area of large/mostly all-inclusive hotels. There is no evening dining options along the beach, no real vibe at night. As you’ll see in other reviews, there are good restaurants outside of the hotel but the area was very quiet. I was told that January through March may be a more interesting time to visit. When I checked in, I was told that I could charge things to the room using my wristband, but it took three visits to the front desk to input my credit card so it wasn’t until the last day that this worked. The beach is nice, the ocean is warm, the waves to crash pretty hard (so kids, and those who do not want to dive the waves need to stay in quite close). I noticed a margarita at the pool bar was $15 Canadian equivalent. I didn’t see a happy hour.
