Everything about the rental was perfect but the surprise was the hospitality. We didn’t get to visit with Thelma as much as we would have liked, she has a busy schedule, but we did get to visit with her son Brian quite a bit. Between Brian and the family dog, “Scout,” we felt instantly right at home. He is very interesting to talk to and “Scout’s” adorable low key demeanor is absolutely heartwarming. Brian was very respectful of our “mission” for being there and he seemed able to sense that we enjoyed talking with him so much that we would lose track of our “mission,” (sightseeing), and could have easily spent the day gabbing with him and messing with “Scout” instead of doing what we came for. As a result, it was as if he would keep the morning visits brief, making sure that our stay was comfortable and letting us get on the road before we started “burning daylight” with more gabbing. After our day full of breathtaking scenery, we looked forward to returning to the bunk house for another helping of the hospitality that Brian and Scout provided. I’ve made many trips to the Ozarks and always love going there, but this was the best trip ever. There is a guest book there, and after reading some of the comments, it seems that my experience is very similar to those who stayed there before us. I will be returning for another “heaping helping” of the good old fashioned hospitality that they are serving there just as soon as I am able.
