The room was quite spacious and well maintained. I liked the bathroom decor and the outside area which included chairs and picnic tables near a garden that attracted birds. The amenities were good and included a table and chairs which were very useful. We enjoyed our two night stay here.

Some of the furniture is a bit outdated (towels were a bit thin, and not very plentiful), but was clean. The staff were nice & welcoming, the mattresses were comfortable, and we had everything we needed! Its also in a pretty quiet location with a restaurant/bar and a bowling alley next door.

There were some dead bugs on the floor of the room when we checked in. The bathtub didn't look very clean in the corners. One of the tv's didn't work (we had an adjoining bedroom). I wasn't expecting a lot with our stay. It was fine for what we paid. It wasn't our first choice of a place to stay, but our first choice was booked already, and the other options were too expensive due to the fair concert.

Check in was available late even though Expedia said it was closed at 6 pm. Got kind of freaked out that we couldn’t contact them from John Day National Monument because of no wireless service there but the couple that runs the motel were amazing! They checked us in when we got there close to 9 pm. They gave us a nice room and personalized service. Loved the experience and would be back again!

The owners are helpful and friendly, the place was quiet, and your vehicle is visible from your room window. Older but clean motel, grocery store in walking distance and a dive bar next door...exactly what we were looking for.
