"We had an allergy problem. My son is allergic to tree nuts and peanuts. We made the staff and gm aware if it right away. They have all good labeled but had a chicken dish that said chicken and fruit. Come to find out it had Brazil nuts in it. As my son was taking his first bite of chicken ( it was in his mouth). The staff ran out with a fresh piece of chicken and told him it had Brazil nuts in it. When we questioned the GM she said that Brazil nuts are not tree nuts which they are in fact....

"I traveled with my family to the Cumaceba lodge. We stayed for three nights and four days. We had an amazing Amazon experience! Our guide Dixon was fabulous! "We had a great stay at the El Dorado Classic Hotel in Iquitos. The hotel was clean, modern, and comfortable overall, and it was a very nice place to stay before and after our time in the Amazon. Our room was clean and comfortable, the beds were very nice, and the air conditioning worked well, which was especially appreciated in the Iquitos heat. The hotel itself felt well maintained and modern, and the pool was a great place to relax. We also enjoyed the free breakfast, which was good and convenient before heading out for the day. Overall, the hotel had everything we needed for a comfortable and easy stay in Iquitos. We also want to give special recognition to Diego, the bartender and waiter. He was always attentive, friendly, and welcoming, and he always had a big smile. Diego helped make our stay even more enjoyable with his great attitude and excellent service. Overall, we had a very positive experience at El Dorado Classic Hotel and would recommend it to travelers staying in Iquitos who want a clean, comfortable, and convenient hotel with friendly service."

"Staying at TRC offers total immersion into the jungle: we bathed with hummingbirds thrumming overhead, and woke up to troops of Tamarin monkeys passing by our room - it’s just wonderful to be surrounded by so much nature. The guides, biologists and excursions all offer further opportunities to see more and understand more wildlife. Of course, nature will also visit you in your room, with bugs, geckos, frogs and bats frequent visitors - but this is why you come to TRC and not some other lodge removed from nature. If you don’t want the odd ‘roach mooching around your bathroom, don’t come here! If you want to guarantee you’re doing all the activities you want to do in the limited time you may have at TRC then I’d recommend a private guide; though if you’re lucky you’ll find your group will have similar interests as you and you’ll be able to do a lot of what you’d like! Our guide, Listen, was super enthusiastic, knowledgeable and tried so hard to squeeze as much into our itinerary as possible. I also managed to spend some time with Jeffrey, who specialised in birds and was a great help with my bird watching and was able to join us on the macaw Claylick which was a wonderful experience. We had the bigger room, which had a bath and two queen beds, just for the two of us, this was helpful to try and stay cool during the day - it does get very hot and sticky! The food was super fresh and all vegetarian (mostly vegan), with just two additional meat/fish options."
