Loved this place!

Awesome location within the property and a beautiful ocean view from lanai. Comfortable bed for my husband and I while kids slept on a pullout bed. Our fave aspect were the two pools, especially the saltwater pool overlooking the ocean.

GREAT SPACE

This is a lovely place to stay. It is clean and fresh. It has been remodeled recently. The property was quite nice with 2 pools and a sandy spot for relaxing near the coast. The furnishings and bed were quite comfortable. The kitchen was fully equipped. The bath was large, with double sinks and a nice shower. We would absolutely stay in this unit again if we head to Kona in the future!

Amazing location for evening sunsets!

This is the perfect location! Location is convenient to the downtown area and evening sunsets are amazing. Locals and other travelers meet each evening to share the sunset ceremony while cooking dinner on the provided grills. The lanai’s location allows for a peaceful, morning view of the ocean while relaxing with coffee and breakfast.

Casa de Emdeko is a great complex and unit 237 is, in our opinion just what we need to relax and enjoy the Kailua Kona area. It is decorated in Hawaiian style and its location in the complex is great (one unit from the Ocean). Having 2 bathrooms is a welcome feature as well! Already planning our next visit!

Ocean sounds

The best thing about this condo is the proximity to the ocean, as the sounds are constant and soothing. Even though the view is mostly blocked by a large plumeria tree, you can still catch glimpses of the sea. We used the community grill once, and that was fine. The residents and guests tend to congregate in the community area just under the balcony every evening around sunset. We enjoyed the saltwater pool and the overall well-kept grounds and facilities. This was a good option for a long-term stay!

Everything in the kitchen was great and the amount of space was great - it was a bit tight once all 4 of us (two adults, two tween/teens) were in the space, but only when it came to maneuvering around a sleeping teen, which was not a surprise. The outside space is nice in the morning and the evenings, a great view of the sunset from the door or a walk down the steps to the lava rock wall, the pools were in great shape and the salt water pool was the favorite. The unit is in a nice location for getting to downtown Kona and we didn't hear any road noise as the unit is on the ocean end of the resort. I would happily return to this unit!

Reviewer Comments: We always stay at Casa De Emdeko when we go to Kona-the location is great for us-just down from downtown ali'i drive which makes for a nice walk every morning. This was the nicest one we have stayed in because of the balcony set up and being right near the end of the units near the ocean. The amenities were fine-not having a washer and dryer in the unit was the only knock against it. They did have beach chairs for you to use and we used those at both hapuna and Makalawea beaches. We will definitely stay here again.

The property is well taken care of and the owners are well loved in their community as several folks stopped to help us with the grill or offer comments on this great condo. We did see much of the island and had lots of adventures, but it was always nice to know we had this great place to come back to. Breakfast and dinner on the patio to the sound of the waves and lots of puzzles from the shared library downstairs made this even more special. My daughter and I highly recommend this condo! Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Lovely spot with nice amenities. I recommend it for a couple or a small family. The space is nicely decorated, updated, and has AC. The ocean view is blocked by beautiful old frangipani trees. The community is friendly and welcoming. Great lava rock wall to sit and view the waves, dolphins, sunsets, and tide pools with crabs, fish, and eels. No elevator to bring bags up and down. The Saltwater pool was out of order during my short stay but the regular pool was open, and construction on passageways was going on. The work hours were reasonable and workers friendly. It impacted parking near accommodations, but all this shall pass, and the property will be better for it. Only small improvements would be the screen doors front and back, providing a starter laundry detergent, and connecting overhead light to switch in the main bedroom. I would stay here again without hesitation.

The condo was very clean and the kitchen and bathrooms were well stocked with everything we needed The location was perfect, nice and quiet but an easy, few minute drive into downtown Kona for shopping or restaurants or south to Magic Sands or Captain Cook. The view from the lanai was outstanding and I miss it already! There was plenty of furniture both inside and outside for comfortable seating, but I will say that I found the bed to be too soft and not as comfortable (though I know that is very subjective). Wouldn't deter me from coming back though, as this condo was absolutely perfect for us. It was just my husband and I, so the size was perfect. It was plenty spacious for the 2 of us, but may have been a little small for a family. The extra half bath was much appreciated. The complex is very well kept and very quiet at night. We loved the salt water pool and beach area and enjoyed sitting in the courtyard in the evenings with tiki torches lit and watching the waves roll in. Knutson and Associates were very easy to work with and checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was perfect for us - which it was. We had no issues or problems at all while we were there. If we ever have the privilege to come back to the Big Island, I would absolutely stay here again and wouldn't look anywhere else.

Quiet, Cozy, Updated Condo Right on the Ocean

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We loved staying in this condo. The condo is updated with a very nice kitchen and shower. Our favorite part of the condo was the lanai which had a lounge bed and comfy furniture. There are trees blocking the view of the ocean as indicated in the photos, but you can hear the ocean waves from the balcony and overall you feel like you are right on the ocean. Every night we went to watch the beautiful sunset on the beach right outside the condo. The condo was equipped with beach chairs and lots of beach towels. We purchased a small umbrella and left that behind for the next guests. There were also fans in the closet which was nice. The air keeps it cool, but we like the extra noise at night. Overall, the condo had everything we needed and more. It was very quiet and private, the complex did not seem busy. The location is very convenient to Kailua-Kona with lots of restaurants and shopping a 5-minute drive away. You could also walk to town if you wanted, about 20 minutes. We can't wait to come back someday.
