Wonderful stay at Sunset House

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. Although an older home, it was quiet, clean and comfortable. The location was great with easy access to Kona and the beaches. The sunset views were a highlight. We wished we could have stayed longer and would book this house again.

The lanai view is amazing

The house was good. The lanai view was amazing. The pool is OK. I would not come back again because you have to have an in person check-in.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Great home, with everything you can ask for. Easy to get to from the airport, and an (almost) central point to set up as the base to explore the whole island. Knutson team was very helpful. Met us at the house for check-in, and also checked in with us a couple of days later.

Awesome sunset house

Super place. Location, amenities, and view all 5 stars. Only suggestion is to replace the pots and pans (non-stick all thoroughly abused by people and scratched to death & are now toxic to use).

Family Paradise

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Kona Sunset House. The lanai and sunset views were amazing! Honestly, some of our most relaxing times were chilling at the pool, surrounded by all the tropical trees & plants; watching the birds and lizards. The only complaint was how warm the house would get from the sun light in the kitchen during the day and then it was difficult to get the house cooled down before bed (even with all the fans going).

Wonderful stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed are stay in this lovely house. The Lanai was by far our favourite area of the house. Great views, great location and only a $12 Uber ride into Kona. The pool is refreshing after a long day. My only comment would be that a light be installed over the BBQ as others have mentioned, we generally ate around 8:00 pm and it is dark! Would stay there again.

Fabulous sunset view!! We loved our stay. We used the kitchen daily. The outdoor equipment was VERY helpful. I was worried about no air conditioning but we were very comfortable in the evenings.

Clean and close to town

House is clean and in a great neighborhood. Appliances could use an update but everything works. No AC but it would have only been barely needed anyway. The sweeping ocean views off the large lana’i are really amazing

The view from the large lanai, surrounded by the properties foliage is unbeatable. The location in a quiet neighborhood is definitely a plus.The management company is incredibly on top of any issue that may arise.

Amazing Views!

House was great! amazing views! Great location. Comfortable breeze. IT has everything you need. Pool was great! The neighbor to the north is extremely sensitive to noise. She will yell at you. Normal conversations and splashing does carry. This house may not be the right one if you have young kids (or older kids) who are loud outside.

Great place. We loved it.

Loved the property. A little warm, but plenty of fans and windows to keep it cool. Pool was great, with the exception of the neighbor to the north. 20 year old, two 48 year olds, and a 70 year old cannot make that much noise. Would hate to have kids. Thank God SHE'S MOVING. Other than that it was a great place. Would stay again. Thanks Blake, and Ellen. We had a wonderful stay.

Beautiful house with beautiful views!

We had a great time...the house was beautiful and views were fantastic. The house has everything we needed for a wonderful time. The only thing lacking was air conditioning. The only complaint is the freezer/refrigerator smelled so bad. When you pulled any food out it stunk.and your hands stunk bad of fish. Someone must have used it as a bait fridgerator. Thanks for allowing us to stay in your beautiful home.

Relaxing Getaway

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property was perfect for our 4 party ohana. The rooms were clean and roomy. The kitchen was fully supplied and we cooked several meals there. The living area was perfect and comfortable and the lanai was our favorite place to hang out. Although it rained for two of the three days of our stay, we did use the full-size pool which added to the whole relaxing get away experience. Although most neighbors were friendly, someone did leave a little note on our rental car, complaining about how I parked (in front of the house we were staying in???). A little irritating, but the rest of our stay was fantastic.

As with most island homes there was no A/C, but this was not an issue since there were plenty of fans and the island breeze cooled the home down in the evenings very nicely. The views from the home were incredible and we took advantage of every moment we could out on the lanai. The location of the rental was ideal, being centrally located to many of the things we planned to do. The rental company was very helpful and communication was very easy.

Amazing Location!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Kona Sunset House was perfect for our family of 6 during our stay on the Big Island. The location is AMAZING! You really can't beat that sunset view. It was also a good central place to come back to after our daily adventures. We loved having access to our own pool, the BBQ grill, and comfortable seating as well as a table on the back porch for meals (and yoga mats for morning yoga!) We also appreciated the beach umbrella, chairs, and boogie boards for the beach! The house got a bit warm, but the provided fans helped with that. For 6 people it would also have been helpful to have a few more extra towels. Overall, we were very comfortable and looked forward to going back to the house each night. Highly recommend!

Perfect Kona location

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This is such a great location for a stay in Kona! Quiet neighborhood, but close to everything. Especially love being right by the Walua Trail for early morning or late afternoon walks. The view from the lanai is amazing and it is nice to have a pool for when you are too lazy to drive to the beach. Was a perfect set up for kids.Great kitchen with new appliances. A grill for cooking outside. LOTS of beach equipment.The property management was great. Met us at check in to make sure to answer questions.The older couple who are the neighbors to the north are nice and put out extra fruit from their yard for people to help themselves, but the guy gets annoyed if there is noise on the lanai after 10pm. Don't blame him.Would definitely be my first choice of where to stay in Kona in the future!
