BIg Island Experience

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was somewhat dissatisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Pros - location near the beach and walking distance to restaurants and shops - Facilities: well-kept pool, bbq, pool table, books, and board games available to borrow. - When you arrive you’ll find a cold water bottle inside the fridge and snacks- Snorkeling, beach umbrellas, chairs small cooler and even cart for caring Cons - need improvement: - The mattress in the main bedroom will provide a horrible night's rest- A couple of shower towels had wholes and bed sheets are worn-down - Kitchen pots and pans and utensils are old and only a few small pans so cooking for a family of 4 can be challenging - Sofa could be updated

Excellent location

I really liked this property as the location and the lanai were excellent! The downside was the condo looked clean, but after walking barefoot for less than 5 minutes, my feet were black so we ended up wearing slippers the entire time. Also the shower doors on the showers had terrible soap scum which did not make me feel confident that they were actually clean. The linens and towels were also dingy and old looking, and one towel actually had large holes in it. The beds could also use to be replaced as they were saggy and squeaked a lot. The pool was not great for small children as it gets deep very fast with very little shallow area and there is no jumping allowed. I would love to stay here again, I just hope its a bit cleaner feeling next time.

Great Location

Let's start with the pluses. Great neighborhood, great view from condo, very quiet at night, clean, fantastic beach you can walk to, great place (Magics) for coffee and beach view in the morning, minutes from downtown Kona and close to every kind of shopping. Pool is very nice as well as AC to cool the place in the early evening. To be fair I understand this place was just purchased and was told the new owners will be updating the condo. The mattress on the hide a bed sofa and in bedroom number 2 ( no bathroom) are very uncomfortable. Pots and pans should be tossed out, the main bedroom needs a dresser, because of a bright light outside the main bedroom window a curtain should be on that window, a nightstand and lamp should be on both sides of the bed, and the dining table and chairs are junk. The kitchen as a whole needs a major updating. Also, you can't turn off the fan manually that is over the table. I only write this in hopes the new owners read this and see what's needed. Would I stay here again? Yes, with no hesitation. We figured the pluses outweighed the minuses and we truly had a great time

Kona vacation

Basic condo in great location with mechanical problems and very uncomfortable beds..

The AC unit did not work. Took 3 days to get fixed. The washer/dryer did work. The beds were all very uncomfortable. We attempted to work with the management company to resolve these issues. After very poor follow up and with still unresolved basic necessities not working as advertised, we left the property early.

Nice stay in Kona

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Our family of 4 (including 2 adult daughters) stayed for 6 days. The girls appreciated having twin beds. The apartment was very clean except for lint on the vent in the master bath; no trouble with bugs (and the monthly insect treatment was scheduled the day we left). The lanai has a view of the ocean; the beach across the street had high surf so only experts were out in the waves, but was fun to watch, and the beach seemed to be a big social spot. There is a great restaurant across the street, but other than that, all other stores and restaurants are several miles north. The kitchen was well-appointed with modern appliances, and out on the balcony were beach supplies including an ice chest, chairs, umbrellas, and snorkel gear. The unit is 3 floors ABOVE covered parking; we discovered the elevator at the other end of the building the day after we arrived. The bed in the master BR was bouncy. The lighting in the main room was on the dim side, and there are no ceiling lights on the balcony for after dark, which would be nice. The unit was very spacious. Great visit, we would stay there again in a heartbeat!

Big Island White Sands Village

Air conditioning???

Arrived to find condo 81 degrees. Air conditioning took a full day to get to 74 degrees. Tile work and countertops are brand new….but all cabinets are from the 1970’s and dirty. Overall, the unit was clean but needs new dishes and some decent furnishings. Would probably not stay here again.

Fantastic Getaway Spot

Made us pay again because htey said not paid even after their employ ahd contacted us before trip and said htey had straightened it out and did have out payment.

Clean, Convenient Kona Location

Having stayed in the complex another time we knew of would accompany out group and be a convenient place to base camp out of. Although dated, it was clean and affordable. Pluses and Minuses for Roomy Well-Located Condo

Roomy 2-bd, 2bth condo. Good setting for beach access, and trendy beach snack shack is just across the street. Quiet, well-maintained building. Specific unit is very "tired" with out-of-date furnishings and grubby cupboard doors. Some family loved this place--a long time ago. Needs a major update.

Disappointing journey

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Two lights and wings in the living room were broken, and the curtains were useless. Even if I switched off the air conditioner, the sound was so loud that I couldn't sleep well. Beds are too soft and sink. It was the worst room ever.

The worst room

Both the fan wings and lights on the ceiling of the living room were broken, and the lights and fans could not be used alone. The sound of the air conditioner was noisy and I couldn't sleep well. Also, the bed was too soft to sleep. The curtains in the living room are also broken, and the sun enters directly and is dazzling. It's the worst room ever.
