We were there in June, and didn't need to use the fire place, but the smell of woodsmoke was there. During winter, you expect the smell of wood burning, for sure, but I was not expecting that in June. However it didn't bother us since it was kind of like staying at a camping site. 10/10 Excellent

The hotel was perfect for staying along the train line. I decided to cut my trip short in Sapporo and was able to make a last minute reservation here. Beautiful, new hotel. Within 2 min walk from train station. (Shin-Hakodate). I did read comments and made sure to get some food before 8 at the shops downstairs. They don’t stay open too late.
