I had a great time here! The staff are SO friendly here, it was wonderful. If you have mobility issues, I would not book here. The stairs are very narrow and the walk from the road to the property is a bit far, and to check out you need to go to the hotel across the street. Huge shout out to the taxi driver, Joao, who was absolutely amazing!!! He was for friendly and made my day so much better by helping me go to the gondola and to the train station with a foot that is healing from a recent injury. I am so impressed.

Rooms were very clean and maintained every day, food was great and staff were extremely friendly and helpful they definitely helped increase the atmosphere of the hotel and made the stay feel more comfortable. However, since the hotel didn't have a reception it was a little difficult to find staff or know when they are available / know how to check in since information was incorrect online. Furyhermore, our door handle was slightly broken so would come off every now and again and within the hotel there were TOO many flies in the dining areas inside, meaning eating was stressful, the hotel could work on that to find ways to deter or decrease amount of flies. The location is amazing with surrounding scenery and was a perfect location within the town itself.

The location for Kandersteg was perfect! The water in the shower would stop and run cold with every shower. Someone was in our room when we left for the day and left their drink and crackers behind. The staff was friendly and food very good!

Traditional Swiss chalet hotel

Historic wooden hotel that's on UNESCO list. I loved seeing how people lived, even though it meant going to third floor on an old wooden staircase. The rooms are so interesting, with a side room with a third bed reachable by a secret staircase. The food cooked at the restaurant was so good, traditional Swiss food. Very friendly staff, dressed in traditional folklore dresses.

Særpræget - charmerende - gammelt

Gammel bygning med charme - vi oplevede dog strømafbrydelse på værelset. Var gode til at håndtere allegener - måtte dog køre efter glutenfri brød til morgenmad

Beautiful, historic hotel with modern comfort

Lovely stay in this fabulous, old, rustic alpine farmhouse restored into a lovely hotel with modern guest rooms that are decorated in the old alpine style and appointed with traditional alpine style furnishings. The common areas, restaurant spaces and exterior are in good original condition with hand carved and painted details, hand wrought hardware and antique clocks and accessories. Polite and efficient service, clean and quiet rooms and hearty breakfast made for a wonderful stay.

This hotel is a magical dream. The staff is incredibly kind and very professional. The decor is so special and the views in all directions are wonderful. The cows with bells in the pasture next to us was a beautiful sound. This is one of the most memorable hotel stays I’ve ever had. Now I am dying to stay again in the winter and go cross country skiing.
