Stay cancelled an hour before arrival!
While our family were on the bus to Kandy we received a mail from the hotel that our stay was cancelled. As we were not online on the bus we did not know till we arrived at the hotel. This hotel requires the guest to cancel at least a week in advance, but finds it ok to cancel on their side up to an hour on advance. We had a long and hard negotiation on a bad telephone line with the manager, who thought it was our problem to find another hotel. After a lengthy argumentation he agreed to find another hotel of similar quality in the neighborhood and use the money we already paid to pay for that.
We found attitude extremely arrogant, and the only reason we do not give worst evaluation is that after all, in the end, they assisted us in finding a suitable alternative. We spent most of an afternoon to get all this settled.
