It was awfully packed over the full moon weekend (would not recommend visiting during this period)! This pavilion-like structure at the front Paththirippuwa, or Octagon. It is a symbol of identity in Kandyan Architecture. In the olden days, the king would stand there to address his citizens who were gathered in front of him. The golden roof behind stands over the Buddha tooth relic that this temple is famous for. There are different common resting area, spacious & well decorated. Friendly & smiley staff. Our TV was not working the first night but it was fixed the next day. Location is a bit far from Kandy city but it is quite and comfy. The bed is also comfy but there is noise when turning on the bed! Overall, very good and recommended!

Séjour des plus agréables.Hotel récent à la très belle déco très tendance ethnic chic.tout est king size: chambres et parties communes.Personnel très professionnel ´agréable et serviable.Trés bel hôtel à l’excellent rapport qualité prix:assez exceptionnel. Un grand merci pour ce séjour au calme dans un endroit résidentiel loin de la cohue du bruit et des encombrements de Kandy au demeurant dans un site exceptionnel.

Management were appallingly rude and refused to acknowledge our cancellation of a second night made prior to our arrival and confirmed by them at the time. He completely disregarded the cancellation policy written on Expedia and refused to refund our payment. He ended up throwing a ruppee note equivalent to 1/3 of what we were owed to ‘make us go away’.Expedia have been essentially uncontactable with regard to this discrepancy between what is written on Expedia and what management says sending automated email responses to our attempt to contact them. I would advise strongly against booking Rivera Residence and against believing cancellation policies outlined by Expedia

Lovely hotel with great staff. Only downside is that the hotel is a fair way to the city centre so have to rely on tuk tuks or taxis. Would highly recommend.

Great find!

This boutique hotel was perfect for our overnight stay in Kandy. Note that this hotel is not in a central location, but is in what appears to be an upscale neighbourhood close to the river. Everything about the hotel appears to be new and modern with great en-suite bathrooms and comfortable beds. Currently no onsite restaurant, but food can easily be ordered in by the very friendly staff. Would highly recommend for those looking for a quiet place to stay.

Fabulous breakfast and excellent service！ Hotel is clean with enough facilities in the room. Hotel staff are friendly, helpful and considerate. Breakfast was rich with many items! A fruit platter with a variety of fruits was one of the items for the breakfast. On one day, I mentioned that I like papaya only. Then on the next day, I was surprised that they remembered it and prepared a whole plate of papaya to me! That was so warm indeed! Special thanks :)

Great place!

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is full of character and the room was very comfy. Amazing breakfast. They also let us use the microwave to make popcorn :) A little bit out of Kandy but affordable tuk tuks into the city.

Feels like home

The rivora hotel is just outside Kandy but you can reach everything easily by tuktuk or taxi. The area is very quiet, so you can relax after a busy day. The room was super clean and the staff extremly helpful and friendly. We stayed for 3 nights and I wish we could have stayed longer!

Nice hotel, but not given the room we payed for!

Nice hotel, little out of the town. Would need a tuk tuk or private driver to get into the town. Clean and comfortable hotel. Only down side was we booked and payed for a room with a Mountain View only to be put in a room on the ground floor behind reception with a view of a full height wire fence. When asked about the room we had booked we were told no rooms had a Mountain View, only to find out the following morning that there is a room with a Mountain View.

Modern boutique a little outside of Kandy.

Lovely modern hotel in a quiet residential area. Clean and comfortable. Friendly staff. About a 15 minute tuk tuk ride from Kandy didn't matter too much as we were only there 2 nights but not ideal if there longer as was difficult to find when coming back from Kandy and local drivers struggled to find it.
