Olathe Inn

The hotel is conveniently located with easy access to highways, shopping and restaurants. The hotel was very quiet. Not sure how it is staying open because there were very few people staying at the hotel. Excellent price. Better than many hotels I have stayed at that cost more!

Not great with big crowds

We arrived to check in at 3:00 as was advertised online only to find out that the check in time was actually 4:00. This wouldn't have been a problem but when we arrived back at nearly 5:00, there was still issues with the room being ready. They did get us into a room after making lots of excuses about having a really busy weekend. I think we were looking for an apology and maybe a couple of drink coupons to the bar or a free pizza from room service but we were met with nothing but excuses and a representative that just wouldn't stop arguing and making excuses. The stay was ok after that. Mostly had issues with the TV not working well and the hot water was just barely what I would consider tolerable. Maybe they are just not used to having so many customers?

Poor review . Restaurant/lounge were not open . No reason given. Older property and conditions confirmed this . Dirty rugs in room. Peeling wallpaper in bathroom . Would not stay here again

Poor Service

Hotel was clean. However, despite staying for 3 nights we never had a room made up or clean towels. This was despite our calling the 3rd day to have clean towels brought up.

Poor service

I was surprised at how nice the room was, since we only paid $67.00 for it. You would expect to pay $80 to $100 for it. The rooms was very clean, spacious. We had a sitting area with a couch, coffee table and a couple chairs in it. The bathroom was a bit small but functional. We did however think it was a bit odd that they only gave you one hand towel and wash cloth with 2 adults staying but we did have 3 towels. There is no refrigerators in the rooms and they told us you have to asks for one and pay extra for it, that was something we have never encountered before. The room temp was a major problem, when we got there it was set on 61 and when we turned it to 75 because it was quit cold the heat never turned on. We called the front desk and they simply said "well it should work". Needless to say we spent a very cold night in that room with no apologize from the staff or help. I would say if you stay to make sure your air/ heat works before you settle in. There is no elevators and since I am handy capped hat would have been nice to know since I do not handle stairs well. Over all it is a nice hotel but the service is not good.

Needs improvement

Older building located next to Medical Center. Front desk and housekeeping staff were friendly and helpful. Room was clean and mostly quiet. The only problem I had was the toilet leaking nonstop as well as it not being secured to the floor.

One Night before the Big City

My wife and I arrived in the late afternoon. We found the motel clean and the staff friendly. After registering we checked out our room finding that there were not any wash cloths or hand towels in the bathroom. Also the room next to us contained a "yipping" small dog. I called the desk and very quickly the necessary supplies were at our door and we were informed that another room will be made available if the dog is a problem. The only other issue that was a surprise was the eating places did not surround the motel area. On the Sunday before Labor Day the choice of different eateries was very limited, but we were not "crammed" in the city but rather enjoyed the urban quiet. All in all it was a pleasant place to stay.

Had to carry bags up flight of stairs

We had to carry our bags up two flights of stairs. The rooms are old and outdated thus making them even more uncomfortable.

Quick weekend getaway.

Convenient for the activities because of highway access so going I attractions was easily done.

My reversation was for a King room and the front desk didn't honor my request, even though I had pre-paid. The room I was given showed obvious wear. There was a loud noise from the air conditioner that was very distrubing.

Not good

We had no hot water. I called down to the desk and told the man who had checked us in. He asked if we ran the water for a bit and waited to see if it got any hotter! Really yes! That's the first thing we did. So he told me that there were no more rooms available and to just wait it out. This was at 11 oclock at night. So I wait a while then try it again and now the water was getting colder. So I went down and spoke to him instead. I wanted a refund so we could go stay somewhere that had hot water so my fiancee, my three year old and I could have baths. He said he called the maintenance guy and to wait and he would fix it. By midnight I was exhausted, my son had gone to sleep. The guy at the front desk finally called and said they had a cancellation and hed bring the card to us. so we waited twenty minutes, he finally came. and gave us ONE free breakfast coupon. When I went down the next morning, breakfast was 13 dollars a piece. I am not satisfied and would never return.

Look Elsewhere

We stayed two nights this past weekend. This hotel could benefit from some Tlc. The grass was knee high. There were items left in the drawers from previous tenants. While the lobby is bright, the rooms are dark. The outlets didn't work on the lamps for plugging in electronics. The morning coffee was really bad. The bar was closed one night for a private party and closed early the second night because it wasn't busy. I'm not sure what other options are around or how they compare pricewise, but I'd definitely look around for a better option before booking here.

Great rate through Hotels.com

Good experience except for the noise coming from the adjoining room. we called the front desk and they called the adjoining room (we know because we could here the phone ring). So depending on the who you have staying in the room next to you, it was a great experience.

Poor Customer Service

It was not good. My husband has a health condition and who would have thought a hotel near a hospital that does not have an elevator. Was very hard for him to get up the stairs to our room. Also, our air conditioning did not work, and they couldn't fix it and the worker was to come back to our room to try and at least turn off the heat, he never showed up. As a priority club member I was very disappointed. I will not stay in this hotel again and right now not excited about my upcoming stay at a holiday in at Myrtle Beach, I hope that hotel will be a better experience.
