“No lounge (only a kitchenette/dining area) and an average bathroom. Odd layout with the second bedroom off the first. Nice and quiet, very handy, but probably not tot eh standard of newer facilities in Cambridge”

“The air conditioner was broken and there was no heating from the second day and it was cold. The battery of the electronic key ran out and I couldn't put it in for about 2 hours. I contacted the owner in a hurry, but it was a pity that he prioritised his errands and did not respond immediately. ( It may be normal in New Zealand, but it was very uneasy for people who came from abroad for the first time)”

“Perfect for our one night stay. Clean and comfortable. Nice breakfast. Friendly people”

“Was a most pleasant stay - lots of information, lots of chats and laughs. And Fin (dog) is really gorgeous. I loved my stay here. Really nice people.”

“We really enjoyed our stay at the Hole in the Ground - a fun and unique place - it's a great set up and excellent location to explore Cambridge and Hobbiton! We especially loved the friendly cat and inquisitive chickens!”

“The tiny home is very tiny. Upon arrival the place was hot from the sun, and very dusty under the bed and dead bugs in the window sills. Glad we like camping, felt like that with the chemical toilet, minus the fire pit and bbq. Lots of windows but location is directly between two houses and on a busy road, not in a backyard with privacy to sit out without feeling like you are sitting in a stage. Ad is inaccurate, and host doesn’t respond till 12 hours later and a second contact attempt??? ……

“Beautiful for our family of 4”

“nice little place, quiet location. I liked the outdoor kitchen, wish i could have fired up the pizza oven but it was raining! Love the vege garden ”

“Clean and quiet rural location . Would go back. Owner helpful. Kay”

“It's a country stay.”
