Top Karon Hotel Reviews

Sawasdee Village

8/10 Good

"The most magical hotel you will ever see! It's just like in the photos. The grounds, the pools and the rooms are gorgeous. We stayed in a cabana pool access room, it was amazing. Spacious, comfortable, clean, plenty of space to unpack suitcases. Gorgeous twinkly colourful lighting on the ceiling, and on the floor of the pool at night time. Breakfast was pretty good, egg station, the usual crunchy yummy asian style bacon, a mix of western and asian foods, hot and cold, fresh delicious juices. All staff so kind and helpful and beautiful. Every corner of this hotel is BEAUTIFUL! A few small negatives that did not affect our stay too much but might be helpful for others: the water pressure in the shower was quite low. The wall between the bedroom and the bathroom/shower and toilet is semi see-through so if staying with a friend, it can be awkward seeing them on the toilet or showering. Mattresses very very soft they bend a bit (some people won't mind this). The cooking class was a little non-interactive/non-informative compared to the ones we have done elsewhere in Thailand but the food was very delicious nonetheless! I got the signature spa treatment (kesa release) at the Baray Spa onsite. The treatment as a whole was wonderful, professional but the oil they pour on your head smelled burnt. I wish the pool bar was open a tiny bit later maybe until 8 or 9pm. Restaurant is open-air so sometimes it was a bit warm in there."

Paradox Resort Phuket

8/10 Good

"Pros: Resort & Location: Huge resort with a grand foyer, massive pool, beautiful gardens, and excellent proximity to Karon Beach and local shops/restaurants. Classic Vibe & Well-Maintained: Loved the traditional style with lots of wood and open spaces. You can see they work on maintenance (repainting, updating), which is no small task for a property this size. Staff: Excellent service, attentive and warm. Room: The Paradox Seaview Room was spacious for two and had a lovely outlook over the resort toward the beach. Cons: Initial Room Issue (Room 4022): Had a damp/mold smell that we initially put down to climate as a lot of hotels we’ve stayed in seem to have some mouldy smells in South East Asia , but power trips and heavy rain revealed a leak affecting the room and the electrics. Staff moved us promptly to 4029 for our final night, which was significantly cleaner better and noticeably free from mould smell. If you get room 4022 make sure you check prior to accepting the room. Bar Pricing: Drinks inside the resort are steep compared to local options right outside. A better longer happy hour (e.g. half-price drinks) would have encouraged us to stay onsite for drinks much more often. Breakfast Selection: The buffet is decent, but repetitive over a long stay (we were there 10 nights). Better layout and rotating menu options would be a welcome change."

Chanalai Garden Resort, Kata Beach

10/10 Excellent

"This Resort at Kata Beach was perfect for our group of 6. Close to the beach, restaurants, massage parlors, and shopping. The rooms are big and very clean. The restaurant food buffet is affordable and good. The pool bartender Nott is awesome, friendly and makes a great Pina Colada. Would recommend this Resort to anyone."
