"Only issue was lack of parking but otherwise highly recommended. Clean, up-to-date ammenities, friendly staff, nice breakfast every morning. Will stay again. "
"Vi hade valt ett standardrum när vi beställde men det var oerhört trist så vi uppgraderade till en svit. Frukost var riktigt bra, däremot var 6-rättersmenyn med tillhörande vinpaket oprisvärt"
"Hotel was literally next door to bus station which was very convenient. Local bus stop and large supermarket also next door.
Breakfast option was adequate (€12).
Usual compact room. "
"Nice hotel in a perfect location.
Lots of cafes, restaurants and shopping just a few minutes walk away. Friendly and helpful staff.
Bathroom could use some updating.
Breakfast was okay, little bit more selection would've been nice."
"Overall good experience. Place is secure, clean, has AC, washer and dryer, pots and plates so it’s good for family stay. Not much to do around the neighborhood though. "

Shopping, restaurants and historical sites are some highlights of Old Town Kaunas. Make a stop by Kaunas Cathedral or Kaunas Town Hall while you're exploring.
We visited the Ninth fort. If you do, wear warm clothes as it is freezing in there although well worth a visit!! We also visited the KGB atomic bunker which we recommend. You won't see anything as strange anywhere else!!!

Excellent
A vibrant town of old and new to explore which was readily walkable. Plenty of coffee shops and restaurants to choose from even over the New Year holiday period. Would recommend this as a city break destination.

We had 2 days in Kaunas, which was not enough. If you want to linger and enjoy the lovely city and the museums, 3 days or more would be better.

Absolutely love Kaunas. I'll definitely return again and again. Easy flight from Edinburgh and great value hotels.
"The location of the apartments is excellent, close to attractions and plenty of cafes & restaurants & within walking distance of supermarkets for self catering! We stayed in the family apartment and found it very clean with sufficient kitchen equipment to allow self catering. A toaster would have been nice and a small brush & pan to clean crumbs etc would help. The only downside is traffic noise for light sleepers but I did get used to it! The air conditioning was great as there was a heatwave while we were staying and we appreciated the luggage lockers on our final day, as our flights were in the evening but we had to be out for 11. Overall it was an excellent experience."
"Upon finding Hotel Metropolis we realised that it was a well-situated hotel for all the restaurants/cafes/bars/museums in the newer part of Kaunas as well as the Science Island and the Akropolis Shopping Centre.
It was approximately a 20-minute walk from the hotel to the Old Town where Kaunas Castle is situated.
The Metropolis Hotel is a lovely renovated old hotel with lots of character. We felt very safe and comfortable at this hotel.
The hotel breakfast was served in the dining room downstairs each day. The drinks consisted of: coffees/teas/fruit juices. The breakfast choices were: scrambled egg/fried bacon/pancakes with ham and cheese in them/assorted cereals/biscuits/slices of cake/cold meats/salad/fresh whole fruit/tinned fruit. There was enough choice but different food could have been swapped/alternated every 3 days perhaps? (We stayed 4 nights, would have been nice to have had mushrooms with scrambled eggs one day for a change).
Overall, our stay was very comfortable at Hotel Metropolis. A very well situated hotel. Would recommend to anyone staying in Kaunas. "
