Kealia Landing House sits on a bluff overlooking wide, sandy Kealia Beach with panoramic, unforgettable views of Kauai's east coast extending ten miles to the Hoary Head Mountain range. From this wonderful cul-de-sac in an historic mill community, recreational possibilities abound!

Right below the house stroll through secluded beaches for miles on Kauai’s paved Ke Ala Hele Makālae pedestrian/bike path, named by USA Today as the 5th best recreational trail in the country. Two miles to the right leads you right into Old Kapaa Town, according to Forbes magazine one of the 15 Prettiest Towns in America.

Take this opportunity to get into a private home providing your family indoor space to move around while enjoying the outdoor lanais and lawn areas as well. Cook your own meals or enjoy takeout from nearby restaurants while supporting local businesses.

Reminiscent of designs by architect Richard Neutra, the house is a modernist, architectural delight. Floor-to-ceiling windows, ten-foot-high Honduras mahogany ceilings and warm stained concrete floors are just a few of the features of this modern, elegant and very private home.

Perfectly designed and furnished for three couples; enjoy viewing entertainment from your Netflix and Amazon Prime streaming accounts through the 80-inch flat screen TV. The home office has great views of the Pacific and a well-supplied Hawaiiana library housing many books on Kauai and the history of Kauai.

Sit on the lawn and enjoy spectacular breaches of seasonal whales. According to The Garden Island newspaper, in a Kauai yearly whale count the highest average number of whales in a 15-minute period were sighted just across Kealia Bay below the house.

In the evening delight in the refreshing trade winds as myriad seabirds, including Frigates, Boobies and even Albatrosses make their way past as they return to the Kilauea Lighthouse Bird Sanctuary. Enjoy spectacular sun and moon rises over the ocean as well as great views of surrounding landmarks Sleeping Giant Mountain, Kong Mountain and in clear weather the waterfalls of Mt. Waialeale, right from your door.

One wall of the first level great room is nearly all glass with breath taking views of the ocean. The second floor is a spacious master suite with platform bed and roomy private lanai overlooking the cobalt blue sea. On the first floor step out to the ocean side lanai with a built-in Honduras mahogany and granite topped picnic table with adjacent gas barbecue. Enjoy the view while dining on grilled island seafood with fresh local ingredients as well as personal favorites.

Easy and equal access to all sides of the island from this wonderful location – plus Kapaa is right next door with a wide selection of restaurants, activities, markets and shops. Other activities nearby include surfing, boogie boarding, kite surfing, snorkeling, fishing, kayaking, hiking, bicycling, golf, shopping and tennis.

Kealia Landing House is a licensed transient vacation rental registered with the County of Kauai.

Great house!
Beautiful location and great house! The house was as advertised, was clean, comfortable and had great extras like beach chairs, boogie boards, a small cooler and more. The location was very central and the nearby walking path was perfect for a great run or walk with a perfect view of whales and dolphins in the morning! We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this house to others!

New Years Stay
Kealia Landing House was perfect for our group of six. Spectacular views from the house, we saw whales almost daily from the back patio. Ideal location midway between north and south side of the island meant we were never more than an hour from our sight seeing, hiking destinations.

Love: property provided beautiful view and setting. Perfect for meditation and relaxation. Did not like: difficult walk down hill to reach the beach. Home itself needs some updating, ie. Bathrooms and mold in the washing machine.

Beautiful Home with Amazing View
Wonderful sunsets and sunrises every day. Yes, you get both from this location! Well appointed home has everything you need. Well maintained and clean. Consider that there is no AC and that stairs are quite steep.

It really is as amazing as it looks!
Magnificent! When I first saw this listing, I thought it had to be too good to be true. Since the listing and reviews were so detailed and highly rated we took our chances and are so glad we did! The views are unbeatable! We wanted to explore both the south and north shores so staying on the east side was very convenient. We felt the Kapa'a and Kealia area had a laid back, local vibe. The house is stocked with great kitchen amenities and utensils, beach gear (chairs, towels, some sand toys, etc.) tons of books, cleaning supplies if needed. We prepared a lot of meals in the kitchen and on the grill. Everything worked well and the views from the patio table while you dine are better than most restaurants. We were a little nervous about some information we received about break ins in the area prior to our arrival, but we never had any problems. We never left a downstairs sliding door open unless we were occupying the room. There were pvc pipes to wedge into the sliding doors to secure them when closed. We armed the alarm whenever we left the house. There are some windows in the bathrooms that are higher up that could be cracked open at night to allow air circulation along with ceiling fans in the bedrooms. Bedroom doors also had locks on them. We really felt very safe throughout our visit. The beach itself is gorgeous, but very strong waves this time of year (Jan/Feb). The wave breaker helped some. The adults loved playing in the waves! We preferred some other beaches with our toddler aged kiddo. Just a few minor draws backs we encountered - As other reviews have stated, the trail down to the beach is very steep and slippery when wet. We only made the trek once. Mostly we drove down to the beach and paved trail. There was always plenty of parking at Kealia beach. Another drawback of this location were the people camping on the beach at night. Because of this I was actually glad the trail to the house was somewhat hidden and steep. A few times they set off fireworks which would have been cool except for a sleeping little one. People sleeping in the upstairs bedroom said they could hear loud music at times. One last thing to note is the 5:00 pm check in time. While this is clearly stated in the online listing, it was difficult with the timing of our flights to wait this long for check in. With a tired toddler our first hours in Kauai were rough. Overall we loved our stay and cherish the memories made at Kealia Landing House! Maholo!!!

Breezy home with gorgeous views!
We were here for Christmas (my fiancé and I, my sister and her partner (all in our early 30s) and my parents (in their late 60s)) and had a wonderful time! The kitchen is well-stocked, the house is spacious, has a good sound system, relatively comfortable communal spaces, and a good amount of beach supplies (towels, 6 beach chairs, 2 umbrellas, and some other stuff.) Beds are comfortable and closet space is plentiful. Lovely outdoor shower (cold water only.) Be aware that the trail down to the beach is quite steep with loose soil, and will not be accessible for those with limited mobility, but the beach is only about a 2-minute drive. For those who can use the trail that's pretty awesome. 10-minute drive into Kapa'a, or a 1.5-mile-ish walk/run, which was great! Curious lack of blinds on the ocean-facing windows, which made for a hot upstairs bedroom during the day and could be uncomfortable for particularly modest people. Not all screen doors close entirely, so some bugs do get into the house, but mostly little gnats that aren't too bothersome. Countertops in the kitchen and bathrooms are a bit on the tall side so super-shorties beware. Overall we had a fabulous time and would absolutely stay again!

Excellent location for relaxing stay
The only thing that could have made this perfect house better would be AC in at least the master bedroom. However, it only took a day to acclimate to the island temps and became an after thought. Location, quietness of neighborhood and lanai design were superb.

Fantastic for 3 Couples
We had the joy of sharing the Kealia Landing house with several couples over the course of a few weeks. Everyone loved the design and the location. If you've ever wondered what someone means when they say a house has "good bones," Kealia Landing answers the question. It cleverly creates private space for 3 couples in a small footprint, is full of interesting design, has an excellent office if you need to do some work, and has great indoor-outdoor living space. The location, in a part of the island far from most resorts, is also ideal. It's cited on a bluff, providing excellent views of nature, surfers at the beach, the weather and even the distant airport, with ample shade for hot afternoons or a passing shower. It's also close enough to town that forgetting an ingredient or picking up dinner is no more than a 15 minute trip. Our major regret was that we forgot to bring a hammock and binoculars! There were a few things that needed repair (wine fridge, kitchen hood) and you can definitely see some of the salt-water age on some items (rusty chairs) but these did not interfere with a fabulous trip. The only other watch-out is that beach access is via a precarious/steep trial. Several in our group took the trail daily, but it would be challenging to carry more than a backpack and little ones may struggle. The vacation rental company was also very responsive. Overall, highly recommend this property.

Amazing place
The house is amazing! With high ceilings, the house has huge volumes and floor-to-ceiling windows all along offering an incredible view from anywhere in the living room/kitchen area. We experienced all kind of weather during our 10 day stay with storms, thunderstorms, mixed weather, amazing blue sky. Under all those conditions the view was unbelievable. The house is well equipped with kitchen appliances and utensils. We could cook everything we wanted. The exhaust over the stove is being replaced and the manager provided a fan to help in the meantime. The path to the beach is slippery when it rains but we could still use it everyday. The beach is great as it has an area protected by a breaker which is great for swimming and bodyboarding and a more open area with huge waves for experienced surfers. It is lifeguarded. The trail just below the house is wonderful. As it was our first Hawaiian vacation, we explored the rest of the island, but could have just stayed at and around the house for our entire stay.
