"We enjoyed our stay at this house, conveniently located within walking distance of the beach, a grocery store, shave ice, and restaurants. The home was comfortable, the beds were comfortable, the AC worked well, and the backyard was beautiful. The property is a bit more worn than it appears in the photos, especially the outdoor amenities. Also, although the listing says this is a beachfront property, it is not on the beach. There is another home and a road between this home and the beach. There were several unhoused people using the beach while we were there, so we didn't play on the beach with our kid as expected. This was a good home base for visiting Waimea Canyon, and we appreciated that the vibe wasn't as busy or touristy as the other towns we visited."

"The home could not have been set in a better location. The city of Waimea was close enough to go for food and groceries, and yet far enough way to feel as though you were disconnected from the hustle and bustle and other tourists. Waking up to the Pacific Ocean directly across the road from the home while sitting on the front porch with your coffee was a wonderful start to each day, and you have multiple porches to choose from that are all furnished with beautiful couches, chairs, and tables. This home was perfect for our family getaway."

"We were looking for somethingbon the oother side of the island from Hanalei, this property was as advertised. Very clean, easy check in, great for a couple night stay to explore. Debra is very responsive. Great stay!"

"The Nene Nest was amazing! We have never stayed on this part of the island but wanted to be close to Waimea Canyon to make it up to the viewpoints early in the morning. We could not have been in a better location for that but I wasn't expecting to fall so hard for Kekaha and the cute little towns right around it. On previous day trips to the South shore, we missed so much of the Hawaiian charm and peacefulness of this area. The cottage itself was beyond wonderful! Endless character, everything was clean, kitchen very well stocked, beds comfortable and AC in the bedrooms was a real plus. I will especially miss family mornings at the Nene nest...the sun shining through the windows, chickens saying hello, breakfast on the lanai in our private garden. Perfection!"

"Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was clean. I was happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Overall this rental great. It has easy access to all the West side attractions (Waimea Canyon, Salt Pond Beach, Kauai Coffee Plantation, etc..) The location is a local surfer hotspot. This isn't a place for little kids to go splashing. It would be nice to have a little KVR sign next to the correct driveway once you go through the gate to avoid confusion. Remember to be respectful of the feral cats, feral pigs, chickens and geckos too!"
