"What can I say, this place was perfect to celebrate an anniversary. It was romantic, very comfortable, clean, relaxing and every detail was thought of. The bed is to die for, comfortable, warm and the center of the treehouse overlooking the rainforest. Slept with windows open to hear the frogs. Owner really did a great job stocking the place with beautiful local art and all the comforts of home. There was a couch and soft lighting beneath the cottage for evening relaxing. She even took extra care with the property planting flowers, bamboo and native Hawaiian plants around the property. We were lucky enough to be only 4 minutes from volcano national park and got to see Kīlauea erupt. Hostess also sent me a whole list of sights, restaurants and stores. Kīlauea lodge was fabulous for dinner highly recommend.We flew into Hilo, but did take a trip to Kona side to swim with the manta rays. Well worth doing and was a trip highlight. Would recommend staying at this cottage for so many reasons but loved no tv, cleanliness, bed comfort, location and exceptional privacy. Wish we could have spent more time at the actual vrbo but will be back and recommend to all our friends!!!Oh and don’t miss the botanical gardens just north of Hilo on scenic route. This was another highlight of trip and not to be missed for anyone that loves plants, flowers or landscaping. Akaka falls and rainbow falls are right near here so see all three as a side trip. "

"This was an amazing space to stay in for our visit to the big island! The home was immaculately clean, had everything we needed to be comfortable (including a washer & dryer), and afforded incredible views of the ocean (just steps away). The location is convenient for those based around Hilo and the neighbohood is quiet & walkable. We appreciated Liz's responsive communication prior to arriving and the ease checking in & out. We would definitely see if this home is available for a return trip! Rich & Traci"

"We were looking for a place to stay for the night outside of Hilo while exploring that side of the island. This little cottage is clean, spacious and directly across the road from a beautiful, secluded black sand beach. It was magical! We would absolutely stay here again and enjoy it for a longer stay. I would have loved a single serve coffee packet to have enjoyed on the lanai in the morning, but honestly should’ve remembered to bring some with me. Everything was perfect. Thank you so much for having us! "

"I enjoyed my stay here. The place is one of a kind and each room is unique. I was reluctant at first because of the shared bathroom, but I never had issues when I needed to use it. There is also an additional bathroom outside that I didn’t read about or see until my last night. The outdoor hot tub and shower were all placed uniquely in the back of the property amongst nature. The location is super remote and takes some patience trying to find, but you stay here for that reason — off the beaten path. The grounds indoors and out were well maintained. The artwork at the entrance and books inside are provocative and edgy which matches the vibe of the place. The kitchen, dining area, living room and patio were spacious enough for those who want to be alone. Locks are provided on every room door for security. There is a house cat that lurked around. Not a fan, an allergic, but that was minor compared to the beauty of the place. Complimentary snacks are provided in the room, however some water in the kitchen for guests would have been good. Highly recommend "

"Only good things to tell - Very clean, a lot of space, everything you need is there, great location when visiting the east side of the island including Volcanoes National Park. The location of the property is also very quiet (only the frogs and other creatures at night take a bit of getting used to ;)). Can definitely recommend. "
