Exclusive Waterfront Peninsular - near Kerikeri

Open plan dining/lounge/kitchen adjacent to two outdoor decks (Gas BBQ supplied). Kitchen has a well stocked pantry (just replace what you use). House is double glazed (not second bedroom). Guests have use of a reserve 200 metres away that is not available for public access from the shore. 9.5 Km from Kerikeri on a private road of 17 houses. Light interiors, coastal theme with tile floors (second bedroom carpet). Separate Cottage (sleeps up to five, 30 metres away. Has en-suite bathroom & kitchenette).
Property has mature Puriri, Pohutukawa, Olive and pepper tree (a member of the cashew family that produces pink peppercorns). Children are welcome provided you understand there is water very close to the house (not fenced) and the lush tropical grounds contain many volcanic rocks and plants with prickles/thorns. Therefore children are fine provided they are under continuous supervision outside. Also the Lanai has a 700mm (two foot) drop to the adjacent garden beds. An exit clean is included in the rental price but there is no daily cleaning.
Special conditions:
Property is OK for children aged 5+. Younger children must be supervised at all times outside as half the property is close to water with numerous access points andamp; is not fenced. Also the landscaping which is tropical has numerous spikes/thorney species/roses. The property is suitable for small weddings/anniversaries but as we are a quiet rural setting with neighbours 100 metres away on either side, outdoor noise must abate by 10pm.

Extras: Linen (included); NOTE: Under Kiwi bach tradition you are expected to: Clean the house and do the dishes before you leave; leave towels, sheets & pillowcases in the laundry. We will wash for you after departure.

Idyllic Luxury

The setting of this house will take your breath away. You can just gaze at the view or wander endlessly through the gardens. Inside there is everything you need to throw a lavish gourmet dinner party. Sleeping accommodations are just as luxurious as all the other features. And I understand the fishing is quite good.

Magical getaway

We spent 4 nights at Denis’s house and it was fantastic. The house has everything anyone would want, the view is spectacular and the location ensures that you relax. Denis was a wonderful host and helpful to any request or query. We also managed to catch a couple of good size snapper from the pontoon one evening, while sipping on a beer / wine. A truly magical spot.

You won’t believe it until you see it.

My husband and I stayed in Kerikeri for three nights, two of which were accompanied by my cousins family of four. We made use of the main residence and cottage (which was great for the teenagers). I can’t say enough about this home - it is by far the best home we’ve ever stayed in. The views of the water are spectacular, and it’s incredible to have beach access so close to the residence. One of our most memorable experiences in New Zealand will be waking up to have breakfast with the neighboring sheep. Denis (the host) was gracious enough to provide a tour upon our arrival. He encouraged us to use the vegetable garden and all the amenities (dock, beach, speakers, etc). We used herbs and lettuce which tasted fabulous. Nothing in this home is done by accident - the quality is superior. The beds are firm, the decor is beautiful, and the bathrooms are very comfortable. We cooked every night and were impressed by the sharp knives, kitchen utensils, serving platters and accessories. I would highly recommend this home. My husband and I will absolutely be returning to this residence for a longer stay next time we are in New Zealand.

Christmas Get away

We can’t wait to go back. Everything you could want was catered for. The gardens are amazing and what a spot! We feel blessed to have been able to stay at this amazing property. Our hosts were super welcoming and considerate. We would recommend this property without hesitation.

Stunning!

Absolutely fabulous property. The view was so stunning, wait until you walk in the door. Superbly kitted out kitchen, ideal for entertaining. We had a fabulous family 80th Birthday lunch there, 4 generations! The house had a really great feel to it. Cozy & warm. Owners lit the fire ready for our arrival - just brilliant!

Relaxing and comfortable stay

Denis and Christine are warm hosts who made us very welcome in their beautiful home. The house is spacious, especially the comfortable living area with beautiful views of the Kerikeri Inlet. There are a few places to sit outside including a large covered deck with lots of sitting and bbq directly off the main living area. The house is extremely well equipped with everything you’d need for a very comfortable stay . The gardens and views are just beautiful . This is a very relaxing place with wonderful bird life. We had a boat with us and went fishing. It’s tidal in the inlet but we had a couple of great days out and Denis kept us well informed of how to get in and out of the inlet . The location is perfect if you’d like somewhere quieter amd relaxing and yet only a short drive to Kerikeri and beyond. We would highly recommend this holiday home. Thanks Denis and Christine for your warm hospitality and we wish you and your family all the best for the future.

Absolutely amazing

This place was absolutely amazing and I loved waking up every morning to such a serene and beautiful place. Denis made check in so easy and answered absolutely any questions I had. A massive highlight for me was going for a kayak and seeing some manta-rays . Such a beautiful place to be and I would be happy to recommend it to anyone and would love to come back to stay again.

Beautiful home and garden

We had a wonderful stay over the new year period. The home and garden are absolutely beautiful (the photos do not do it justice). The kitchen, living and dining are spacious with lovely views and the outdoor covered deck is perfect. The house was very well set up with everything you need - great to have enough towels and tea towels provided. The garden was simply gorgeous with interesting planting and some wonderful mature trees. We took our dog who had a wonderful time exploring and making friends with the donkey next door. We had two boats moored at the jetty, giving us access to the Bay of Islands fishing and sightseeing. The location is a bit outside Kerikeri which means it is very quiet and the houses are well located so that you feel like you have your own space. Highly recommended.
