About Us:
Grouse Haven Cabin was built in 2003-2004 by the current owners. The cabin was named Grouse Haven because while we were building we could hear the Grouse birds in the area “drumming”. The cabin is secluded in a red pine forest with lots of Mother Nature in its surroundings. There are trails for hiking and cross-country skiing. There is also a picnic area located at the lower end of the 90-acre property that you can get to by hiking trails. The cabin is located in the heart of the Finger Lakes with close proximity to Penn Yan, Hammondsport, Watkins Glen, 2-3 miles to Keuka Lake State Park, the Finger Lakes wineries, micro breweries, Keuka college, and more.

We had everything we needed and the host called me to ask if I was able to check in okay, which was very nice. It was a very nice remote wooded location, which is just what I was looking for. The cabin had everything we needed, and we really enjoyed watching the birds at their feeder.

The cabin was exactly what we were hoping to find, very secluded yet close to everything we were planning to do. Very comfortable and with all the extra little touches that made it feel homey. We loved sitting and watching all of the wildlife around the bird feeder each morning while having breakfast. Phyllis was very accommodating and really goes the extra mile to make your stay perfect!

Exactly what we needed! Beautiful, clean and organized inside, calm, peaceful and secluded outside. Would definitely love to stay again. No issues, no worries, close to the lake and boat launch. Close enough to towns and restaurants but secluded enough that the only sounds you hear are nature. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, this is the place!

This house was amazing. Very private and everything listed was spot on accurate. The hosts were very easy to communicate with which we didn't really need to as everything was great. Loved the property with the fire pit and walking trails. Only suggestions I have would be to add a mattress topper on downstairs bedroom bed for added support and the shower head in bathroom was extremely low flow making showering longer due to the extra time needed to rinse off as water pressure was so low which I totally understand being a rental and also did not take away from the truly outstanding property and home this is, truly 5 stars. We will for sure be coming back for a stay again. We love love love that it is pet friendly as well!

Perfect remote setting in the woods. The cabin was good. I did find the cabin decor a little cluttered, but that’s a personal preference. Furniture was comfortable, cabin was clean and absolutely everything we needed was ample.
