The Ingersol Mine Cabin

Welcome to Ingersol Mine Cabin at Backroads Inn and Cabins. Named after a large mine situated within hiking distance across the valley and perfect for a family. This cabin hosts 2 queen bedrooms/1bathroom with a large living room that has a pull-out couch and kitchen. The large sun porch offers a dining set and twin day bed. Enjoy fresh air and listen to water run down stream on this 8 acre property surrounded by National Forest. You will feel complete peace while also being minutes away from Mt Rushmore (2.4 miles) and Custer State Park (15 mins)

Community Pool (heated) open 10am to dark Memorial Day to Labor Day.

Please Note: We offer Starlink Satellite wifi and being located in an isolated valley we are susceptible to slower speeds.

An in-progress mountain carving dedicated to the Lakota leader Crazy Horse, aiming to be the world's largest sculpture upon completion. Approximately 19 miles from Backroads Inn & Cabins. 

Badlands National Park
Interior, SD
A dramatic landscape characterized by sharply eroded buttes, pinnacles, and spires, offering hiking trails and abundant wildlife. Approximately an hour's drive from Backroads Inn & Cabins.

What a wonderful stay! The cozy cottage was exactly as advertised and the property was perfect for our two pups. The location worked out great for visiting Mt Rushmore, Crazy Horse, Custer State Park and the Black Hills. The host checked in with us before, during and after and made sure all was good.
