This is how we spent our first 15hrs at The Sea Ranch where they can care less about their customers! When we checked into our room the tv didn’t cut on. They send someone and he cuts the power on. We proceed to go to dinner and when we came back to the room the tv was completely froze and nothing worked. The person they sent to look at it said it was an internal issue and that they would have to move us to a different room all the way across to the other side and on the 4th floor at 11pm! So we pack up with 2 kids who were in pajamas and in bed already about to go to sleep. We pack everything we just unpacked a couple hours prior. I then received a text at 9am that we need to be out of the room by 11am and we had to move all the way back to our original room. The Manager on duty was not willing to work with me at all and was very rude stating we had to be out by 11am! Well we went to bed after 1am because we went into the room and unpacked for the 2nd time at 11pm the night before so they could not even sleep in on Day 1 of our vacation. So then we proceeded to pack up AGAIN and I asked for a refund at that point because I refuse to give The Sea Ranch Resort my hard earned money! So here we were within 15hrs of arriving in Nags Head “to start our family vacation” we had to scramble and find another place to stay for the rest of the week. This was the worst experience we have EVER HAD ON ANY VACATION! THE ONLY RECOMMENDATION I HAVE IS NOT TO STAY HERE!

The AC didn’t work and when I told them, they said they would send maintenance up. Later on that afternoon, I come back to the hotel and the room is still 80°. I let them know again that the room is hot and asked if maintenance came up. They said they would send maintenance again. They proceed to tell me that they put new coolant and that it takes time to run through the system. Never offered to change rooms or to give me a fan. Nothing. The very next morning we wake up and it’s still over 80° in the room and this was the day we were checking out and they tell me oh sorry we know it’s not working we have an AC company coming and asked me if I would like a fan. So they knew the system was broken when I complained and never offered to move me. It was a miserable stay! The room was dingy looking. Stains on the carpet and chair. I will not return in the future.

The room was nice and the bed was comfortable. Beautiful ocean view and we had a good view of dolphins swimming up the coast on Monday morning. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars was that the check-out person at the front desk barely made eye contact and never asked how our stay was.

Property needed more attention to room cleanliness and the entirety of our stay we were without air conditioning on the top floor, it was stuffy and hot in the rooms and made sleeping comfortably difficult. Close to beach and restaurants and the weather was nice which made not being in the room for long periods of time possible.

Very spartan room which was fine as it had decent amenties. One small thing that would really help would be to fix the drapery on the window. It was hanging off the rod & made the room look terrible. Staff was friendly & efficient.

I paid almost double for a higher floor and got the 2nd floor. At 8am sharp there was construction going on right outside my balcony to repair the restaurant porch. A warning in this would have been nice. The appears to be no drainage and the parking lot sidewalk etc get swamped with the slightest of rain. Just another crappy tourist trap.

The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Privacy was respected. However, I couldn’t change the thermostat temperature lower (I guess it was locked because it was winter) as I get hot easily. The pool was nice and I liked that it was heated, but there were no towels on the racks. I wish there were showers in the pool area. I couldn’t get in the fitness center initially as the lock was broken. I did not eat at the restaurant.
