Avalon Pier ,boat ramp access,shopping, Jockeys Ridge, Wright Memorial,restaurants,miniature golf.Only 20 min to OBXH2O Water Park!!! .This old style cottage offers modern convenience with smart TV Netflix , WiFi, central air and heat.First bedroom with Queen bedding,second tier bunk bed.Common room has sofa . Kitchen stocked ,microwave,coffee, no dishwasher as it is small but very user friendly,bathroom with shower, and one big outdoor shower.Two outdoor charcoal grills ,fish cleaning table,picnic table.Washer and dryer in a downstairs area that can house your bikes and surfboads.Driveway large enough for boat.Nice large deck with chairs and bistro table for romantic wine night or coffee in morning.Pleasant old style Outer Banks comfort. Great week in OBX!

The “Happy Shack” was great for our family of four. It was very close to the beach snd even closer to the Sound (and running path). The house had everything ranging from kitchen appliances to a strong WiFi internet to a cooler, beach chairs, towels, boogie boards, etc. Callie was very responsive, left the lights on for us (we arrived late), left us coffee and some snacks and checked in to ensure everything was going well. We had a great week and would stay here again. Thank you.

Obx 2021!

As a child, I grew up vacationing at the outer banks. My children and boyfriend and daughter had never been. This was their first. We had a wonderful time and the Happy Shack was perfect for us! Convenient to everything and felt very safe with the location. The Happy Shack had everything we needed including cornhole, which on our downtime we played for hours.

This adorable little beach house was just perfect for our visit to OBX. Such a clean & gorgeous spot

Callie was incredibly welcoming and thoughtful. The beach house is well decorated and located in a quiet little community. Being that this was our first trip to OBX, we didn't know exactly what to expect and wow we were extremely impressed. So much to do in this adorable little town. We will definitely be back!

Perfect getaway - this place is a gem!

This place was the perfect getaway. My son, my friend and I were excited to find a place to accommodate the three of us at such a reasonable price. Callie was WONDERFUL and met us in person to show us around the house and offer suggestions about the surrounding attractions. The house itself was incredibly nostalgic and welcoming. Great beach access was just a few minutes down the road. Callie supplied SO MUCH for us (even coffee) and we couldn't have appreciated her forethought more. The outdoor shower was a favorite for my little guy - he used it every day. We even left a special sand dollar behind under the swing before we left with his name on it. We plan to return soon to try and find it again!

Adorable charming cottage in KDH

My family of three stayed at the Happy Shack during family vacay to KDH/Nag's Head. Perfect location- close to beaches and the sound, the Wright Bros monument, and close to everything you need. We used the outdoor shower after a day at the beach and relaxed on the wraparound deck. Callie met us there to show us around, and she is very friendly and helpful with recommendations. Would love to rebook next time!!

Cozy and Comfortable!

The owner met us there to review everything and was very nice and made us feel welcomed and made a few recommendations for us. Size was perfect for our little 3 person family (could have easily accommodated a couple more). Kitchen was well stocked as well as linens and supplies. Cabin was also very clean and we encountered no issues with functionality of anything. Overall a fantastic stay and would absolutely rent here again!
