Walk across the beach or down the hill onto the main beach, and across to the famous Burgh Island. The island is home to Burgh Island Hotel and The Pilchard Inn. Whilst on the island, why not hike to the top and take in those breath-taking 360-degree views out to Bantham and across to Hope Cove. Set above the beach is a wonderful beach shop, Venus Takeaway where you can buy pasties and ice-creams and during the summer months you’ll find Beach Barista serving great coffee. If the constant outlook on surfers and paddleboarders has inspired you, award-winning Discovery Surf School offers surf and paddleboard lessons, as well as being able to hire boards and kayaks – an excellent way of exploring the surrounding coastline and island.
