  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Tradition

Wonderful neighborhood, house is better than the pictures and the beds were great. Will be returning to this house next year. House provided a wagon and chairs for the beach, which was a very quick walk down the street, Plenty of room for the family to sprawl out and relax. View from the deck in the evenings was beautiful.

The property was great for our family. great space and well appointed. The house and realty team did a great job with easy reservation and checkin and out. The kitchen is well stocked. Suggestion that owner has a landscape person to clean up the pool area, it was very weedy. we also had to buy ant traps for out at the pool area as the pool deck has many biting ants and ant hills. The refrigerator took a long time to get to temp and the hot burner light in the stove is always on.

Carpe duckem

Property unacceptable. Black mold in multiple rooms. It was even coming out of base of ceiling fan in living room, vents, walls, shower curtains. Kitchen poorly equipped. Cabinets peeling. We used 5 beds. Mattresses so bad, two guests slept on sofa. One blanket for entire house.

Overall the rental house is as described. It is comfortable and well appointed. The management company responded to two issues promptly. There were two unresolved issues worth noting: the hot tub had been over treated and the pool company advised us not to use it. The management company made no accommodations for this. Second, the door code deactivated at midnight on July 11 instead of at 10am on July 12 (check out day/time). This was reported but no one has bothered to reapply. Had there not been someone inside the house, we would have been locked out all night. The lack of even a reply is disappointing.

Fantastic place for our family and friends to relax!

The house was great. We had enough beds and bathrooms for everyone. The house was very clean. We had an issue with the pool jets one day and I sent a text. It was fixed within an hour. The wrap around top deck was nice to sit on. You can see the sound. The walk to the beach wasn't bad. We had a 5 and 7 year old with us. Nice outside shower with hot and cold water to rinse off before getting into the pool or hot tub. Overall, we had 9 adults and 5 kids with plenty of room for everyone to have their own space. We would definately stay here again.
