we did not have working air conditioning on the lower 2 floors of the house (where all but one of the bedrooms are) until monday night and into tuesday morning. the bedroom floors were over 80 degrees while we were trying to put babies down for naps and sleeping through the night. when we pulled up to the house, there was an hvac repair man there so they had already known there was no ac and could have preemptively made different accommodations for us. the lack of internet was also a major problem - all of the baby monitors rely on having internet ... i've never had a house down here without internet - not even through a hurricane also the internet was not out because of an outage, it was out because a piece of equipment was broken by previous guests. the house was also absolutely disgusting when we arrived - it looked like it had not been vacuumed, multiple bedrooms didnt have towels, hand towels, etc. the outside of the house is covered in insects - all windows and most of the sliding doors look like they have not even been wiped or swept in many weeks. there were even 2 trash bags left near the pool area completely full of trash, food, maggots coming out of them. there were huge stains in the carpets in multiple rooms, black mold in one room upstairs. i would have assumed covid cleaning would include at least wiping return air grilles which are very dirty.... again i've never even seen this level of filth even remotely renting houses down here. multiple pieces of furniture are broken - i would have expected them to just be taken away instead of left at the house. we also called 3 or 4 weeks in advance of our trip to make sure we could bring a service animal for my wife. when we were in conversation about the rest of the issues with the house with the property manager, she said that she found out we had a dog on the property which was a breach of the property contract. i informed her that we gave them advance notice that a service animal was going to be on the property and my wife also let her know that she was breaching the point of legality in her demands for the dog since she was requesting the dogs identification and threatening to remove the dog from the property - way out of bounds in our opinion and per the ADA service dog federal regulations. i personally think a full refund would have beenhe most fair outcome
