It's the little things...
After a long, isolating, and homebound Covid year, we were ready for a getaway. Doc Ruby was just as we hoped...clean, spacious for four, and close to the beach. It was great except for the new house being wedged in next store with construction noise from morning until night. One worker brought his dog that barked incessantly! And then there were the little things. Never, in all the VRBO houses we've rented has there not been hand pump soap, dish soap, dishwasher detergent, counter cleaner, and for that matter, clothes detergent. There weren't any coffee filters (we left some). There was only one dish towel instead of a drawer full. The floor of the outdoor shower was splintering and the grill that used the non-existent charcoal was rusted. Some of the beach chairs were ripped. We couldn't get the ceiling fan in the living room to work. Those little annoying things added up to less than a perfect rating.
