  • One of the northernmost towns along the coast in North Carolina, Duck is an idyllic town on the shores of the Currituck Sound. This shot was taken from the town's boardwalk while looking West over the sounds. It is advisable to visit the location in Winter as that is off season - so you can spend more time taking in the beauty of the North Carolina coastline and also sunsets are usually much more picturesque around the time owing to the cooler temperatures and lower amount of atmospheric haze. Plenty of things around Duck to see. Further north, there is the Currituck Lighthouse where you can climb the steps to the top of the lighthouse. North of Corolla, there is an area where you can drive along the coast on the sand - 4X4s a must. Here you can spot some Spanish Mustangs, horses out in the wild. If you're lucky, you can spot them running along the beach in the surf. I'd recommend taking a tour through the Corolla Wild Horse Fund - the money from the tours is used to help the wild horses in every which way possible and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. Beautiful home and location

We have stayed in this home for 6 years and have loved it each and every time. It is in the perfect location for frequenting the shops and restaurants in both Duck and Corolla. The home is beautiful and also perfectly situated in the Town of Duck. We will continue to book this home for years to come!

This was our second year visiting this beautiful home and we are already booked for next summer! Immaculate, well-maintained, and spacious home on a perfect stretch of beach. The maintenance team is very quick to respond if any issues arise, which are very minor. Couldn't ask for anything more!

Another great year at Mio Sea

This was our third summer back at this house and it was just as great as the first two times! The house is perfectly situated steps from the ocean, well maintained, immaculately clean, and super comfortable for our family. Two minor issues were addressed immediately by the management company. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a beautiful week at the beach! Thanks for having us.

We enjoyed our stay this year in Duck. Our house was clean and in good condition. Your staff is excellent. Although we had several issues to deal with on our vacation, every time I reached out to your office, everyone I spoke to was highly professional, courteous, and responsive. All issues were dealt with as quickly as was possible. You have a terrific team and we would certainly choose our next stay based on your team.

Best Vacation Ever!

Can't say enough good about Shoreline OBX. The staff, the process, the house....all of it. Couple of small hiccups along the way; just enough to show me how well oiled the machine is and prepared to handle things. (very small; like I couldn't get my door code to work to get in; I think it was me! Called the office; they walked me right through it; like they were waiting for my call.) Always pleasant on the phone! Great people to work with; we are coming back next year; already booked. Miss you already OBX; see you soon....

Mio-Sea Review - OBX

We're long-time OBX vacationers and thoroughly enjoyed renting Mio-Sea. 2021 was the second year in a row we rented the home and have found it to be very accommodating - the elevator was especially useful for my older parents. It remains one of our recent favorites. We chose the early check-in option and found the house ready and clean upon arrival - which was great after a long trip to get there - the kids dumped their things in their rooms and hit the beach early Sunday afternoon! That said, it wouldn't be fair to not mention the staff in this review. The Shoreline staff remained helpful and responsive throughout the entire rental process each year - hats off to all of them!

We all did enjoy the beautiful home, views, mattresses, kitchen, and great family spaces including large seating dining room. But most disappointing to us was how difficult the beach access was. We rented one with an elevator due to my MIL with mobility problems/heart problems. She was unable to go to the beach and other adults had difficulty returning over the dune. It also mentions a community pool in the description but no offer or info left for us about a pool. Everything seemed in working order except the small fridge on 2nd floor which would have been nice to store waters. Overall a good experience.

This is probably the 4th time we have rented Mio-Sea and will probably do it again is 2026 if it's available. The only issue is getting to the beach using their walk and path . It's so covered with sand you have to use the cities public walk and that's no picnic either. My comments is for the owner. I would have LED bulbs in all light fixtures and motion switches in all bathrooms because people don't turn off lights.

Beautiful beachfront property with excellent decor

My friends and family thoroughly enjoyed our stay over 3 weeks at the property. The third floor overlooking the beach was stunning including the clean, modern decor (many beach properties have old fashioned decor). We had one small issue with housekeeping (sheets not included for one of the King beds). The bunk room is tight for 4 (if adults) but fine for children so renters may want to consider the number in their party. Grill was rather rusty so we were reluctant to use it but that did not impact our wonderful stay. Loved every minute of the three weeks. The ocean was everything!

Beautiful Home with Breathtaking Views

We had a wonderful week and highly recommend this property. Highlights: - Check-in was the best it's ever been allowing us access to the property by 11:30am, which enabled us to make it a full beach day on our day of arrival. - Views are absolutely breathtaking and the sounds of the ocean waves crashing were so soothing we left the sliding glass door on the top-level open or cracked all week. One morning we ate breakfast and watched the dolphins. It was amazing. - Bedrooms and bathrooms are modern and spacious - Elevator was a gamechanger! Moving in and out, taking the packed coolers up and down, and transporting groceries was made so easy and effortless. I was initially worried with a 7yo in the house because of what happened the week prior in Corolla light but the safety features were excellent. - Kitchen is gorgeous with most of what we needed throughout the week. It was wonderful having a single table where all 11 of us could dine together. - Private beach access - There's nothing better than rolling out to the beach without having to pack up the car. The location was far enough from public access that you never felt crowded. - Location - we loved being between downtown Duck and Corolla but wish we were a bit closer to a grocery store. We biked to Scarborough Fair to shop and rented jet skis and a pontoon boat for a sunset cruise from North Duck WaterSports, which was walking distance from the neighborhood. Lowlights: - Hot tub was unavailable. Mice chewed through the wires and no repairs or replacement was available. This was super disappointing since this was our first year without a private pool, but we managed and the weather was gorgeous all but one day. - Kitchen area - Pantry was a bit small considering how large the kitchen was and how many mouths are being fed. There is a random full bath that opens and closes right into the kitchen. Might've made more since to have the door open and close into the dining/sitting area. Wish it were a bit more open so people in the kitchen could see the tv and family in the living room area. - Pillows on the sofa are stuffed with real feathers and while the couches are super comfortable and oversized we were constantly being poked with feathers. - Midges - the decks and furniture were infested the first 2 days so badly that we didn't even go out onto the deck. Thankfully, after the storm on Monday night and spraying things down they were gone for the remainder of the week.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in this home for four years and feel as if it a home away from home. The owners have made every attempt to fully equip this home so that you need to bring no essentials from home other than your clothes, beach towels and other personal essentials. We comfortably fit 13 this year, as our family grows. With the home being oceanfront, we find that it is perfect for a relaxing family vacation. A quick walk out of the back doors will lead you straight up the personal walkway onto the beach. We had beautiful ocean views from the entire back of the third floor. This rental is hard to top.
