A pleasant stay with friendly service
The staff were friendly and welcoming, and the service throughout our stay was good. Breakfast was also enjoyable, and overall, there was nothing particularly wrong with the hotel.
However, the exterior of the property, particularly on the garden side, is beginning to look a little tired and would benefit from some investment and a refresh. The rooms overlooking the gardens also face one another, which can compromise privacy, although the small trees between them do help to soften this to some extent.
While we enjoyed our stay, there are other hotels in a similar price range that we feel offer a little more. Ultimately, we think we prefer the more sophisticated atmosphere and overall sense of class at The Kimpton.
Overall, a good hotel with friendly staff and decent facilities, but one that we feel could benefit from some improvements to the exterior and a little more attention to detail to compete with other hotels in the same price bracket.
