I was traveling with a friend and 3 children. Age 4, 5 and 10. We booked a nice 2bedroom villa for 10 nights. Hotel is positioning itself as a 4 star with private beach, breakfast buffet, its own restaurant and pictures were very pretty. Non of the above exists in this hotel... This was probably a nice oasis-like jungle hotel with well designed villas a 10-15 years ago, called Zara Hotel. But now management changed and its more like a dungeon with a construction site in the middle of it with all the noise and construction people walking around carrying building materials non-stop throughout the day. Filthy rooms full of flies, dirty curtains full of stains, dirty pool towels. dirty pool in the villa that only get cleaned if you bring the pool person to your villa by the hand. Hotel is situated on a swamp-like river, that smells and is a home for a huge 3 meter crocodile/comodo family (dad, mom and little ones). Our children were terrified to go to the beach when they saw it...There is NO PRIVATE Beach, its public and terribly dirty because of the sewage that is being dumped into this river which goes into the ocean right next to the hotel. So ocean is extremely dirty in this area. NO RESTAURANT. NO breakfast buffet, only 6 items you can choose from the breakfast menu that are being served by the pool. Food is terribly cooked by staff who speaks no English. Staff is rude and inattentive. Except for Mina, german girl who spoke good english and really tried to help.
