The place is a dump. They post signs that they accept credit cards but don’t. The manager had no idea I had a reservation. The room was moldy. It was buried deep in a building, and getting to it was like walking through a third world neighborhood. After 2 nights we relocated to a much better place for the same money. I want a refund for the 5 nights I paid for but did not stay. There was a dead rat by the elevator.
This is the horrible place ever I have stayed in my history. Very tiny room and bathroom which is unfit for family stay. Long queue is always waiting for lift. The building is not hygienic and maintenance was ugly. Health will be badly affected. Only advantage is the location and centre of kowloon. Easily accessible from airport and all other places.
A shame, I booked a room of 11m2, it was only 5. A rat hole, an apartment building converted into a room with a hundred of Guest houses, the 5 lifts saturated continuously, the first level, Dozens of shops, shabby restaurants, owned by Pakistanis and I suppose the Guest Houses. And all the rest of the building in shabby rooms, how to live in 5m2, a bed of 120x190, and that's all, the bathroom, a closet where you could not even move. Flee, run away. Only the location in the heart of Kowloon is appreciable, but especially not in this rat hole.
I’ve stayed in some run down places to avoid paying the high bill. And out of all the hostels at Chunking Mansion, this had the best reviews. However, I’d look into the other hostels. The first night they were overbooked and so we were given a room with some bugs and a cold shower. The second night was back in the main hostel and we had hot water (thankfully) but still a bit of an issue with bugs (not bad, just here and there) and stained bedding that at least seemed to be clean. You can hear everything. So, people are coming in at all hours and you can’t really sleep. However, Hong Kong is great about its public health regulations so it wasn’t too bad considering the area and price. I’ve stayed in hostels that have cost significantly less and been better. So, from someone who isn’t a picky traveler...I’d still recommend that you consider other options first. If you do decide on this hostel, it could be worse...no bed bugs, no cockroaches so there’s that.
This hotel is located in a good location, that’s all the good thing it has. The room is small, which is still ok but it’s very DIRTY. You wouldn’t even wanna use the blanket in the room. The toilet is too small, basically you have to sit on the toilet to take a shower because there is no space. The toilet bowl is disgusting, smeared with poop stain. When you arrive the building you have to go through people trying to get you to their hostel, which is very annoying and threatening. They won’t even leave you alone when u politely say no. Moreover, if you return to the building at night, you can see threatening looking people drinking around and Inside the building. Call me paranoid but i wouldn’t wanna be on that atmosphere especially u have female friends with you on the trip
We arrived at the Everest guest house and were told there were no rooms and we had to go to the Everest hostel which we had seen online was cheaper and rated worst than Everest guest house so we refused. We could see there was an empty room but the manager refused to give it to us because it was a triple and we'd paid for a double. He didn't seem to understand that was their fault - if they didn't have rooms, we shouldn't have been able to book. Eventually, he said we could have a double room but we couldn't check in until 6pm. We've stayed in a few guest houses in Hong Kong and this one felt unclean - particularly the bathroom and the staff were the most unfriendly. The only good thing about it is the location and that it's on the third floor so you can use the stairs. But if you're moved to the hostel, you'll have to get the lift to the 16th floor which takes forever.
Outstanding place to stay. Staff attentive room clean.

Good location
This hotel situated in a very good location, nearby to shopping mall, MTR & bus stop to airport.
Recommended for those with tight budget on hotel, otherwise can stay at other place which have bigger room & better environment. Our room : hot shower, hair dryer, water & air-cond ( all GOOD except the room space very2 small).

Single room hostel in Kowloon
Hostel 1 single bedroom on Nathan Road, great location, the building is full of cheap hostels, it took me at least 15 minutes to get into the lift each time, as there is a big queue to get in the lift.
The room was tiny, more like a box, single bed was fine, but measuring 160m my feet were almost coming out of the bed, so wouldn’t recommend for tall people.
As for the shower/toilets, that was a first, you take a shower on top of the toilets! With cold water as well... I is overpriced for that kind of room but HK is so expensive, cant really complain...
Ingen plass for bagasje. Badet var skittent med mugg over alt. Det var safe men den virket ikke. Verten ble sur fordi vi ga dårlig melding til Expedia etter innsjekk.
very, small room--as expected in HK. You get what you pay for. Expect to wait a while for the elevator as many guesthouses are in the building and many people use one elevator (one for even number floors and one for odd number floors. It may be very hard to get down to ground floor if you live on a lower floor (elevator fills up easily). The ground level is actually the Chungking Mansions, an international marketplace. It may take a while to find block D if you enter from the big Chungking Mansions entrance. You could find a closer entrance to the right, according to the google maps directions on the site. Very nice people, very accomodating.
