An enjoyable stay at Secret Squirrel. Very clean and comfortable room, we stayed overnight, and it was great to be able to make some breakfast in the kitchenette. Kirsten the host was very helpful. If you are looking for a place to stay overnight would recommend. easy drive to shops, and can walk to botanic gardens.

It would have been perfect, until a got a banging on my door. Which I didn't answer, for the simple fact was to have a restful time. Then the next minute I hear loud talking right outside the thin walls. It turns out some teenager was meant to mow and he turned up and did it while I was there. I had planned to do some quite work and had to leave because of the noise. Very disappointing. All that had to happen was to tell him to come back later, he will never learn that showing up a day late is not ok. He would if he didn't get paid, whereas I had to pay for his mistake. I was thinking that location was lovely and quiet in the country.

Was described to have separate dining room. Kitchen. Living area. Was a small lean too out the back that had none of this. Overpriced compared to similar stays in area. We left 1/3 the way through our stay as it didn’t match what was advertised. Was sold as a weekend retreat. It was not a retreat but a small room to stay in if needed in the area.

Everything was fine except I found the mattress to be too soft and springy and it gave cramps to my sensitive lower back, but that is just a personal thing as my mattress at home is harder

Secret Squirrel is a lovely property and we love its location near the Campapse River walk. We were lucky enough to be met by our friendly host Kirsten. It is very comfortable, clean and welcoming, but it was, however, a little noisy and difficult to get to sleep at night because of nearby airfield or highway, I’m not sure which? Kyneton is a beautiful town and Secret Squirrel is easy to find.

Great location, and a cosy space for one. However, the picture advertising the property is misleading - it shows the cute house at the front & not the (more utilitarian) space in which one actually stays
