Lovely long weekend away
We spent a lovely few days at La Peyriere, very relaxing and we manage to combine some lovely evenings by the fire with some long walks and trips to some amazing markets nearby. A great place to come if you want to have some time away from the day to day.

Pleasant stay in the Averyon
Lovely peaceful 2 weeks spent at La Peyrière, meticulously maintained pool was the highlight. Although secluded (a plus for us) nice area to explore on foot, kayaking at nearby Najac, very friendly boulangerie at La Fouillade

Lovely stay this Autumn, great weather, sunny and warm in the day but cool enough for the wood burner at night. The house is really cosy and warm and we had some lovely days out to Cordes, Najac and Villefranche. Already booked again for next year!

Lovely French Farmhouse
We very much enjoyed staying at La Peyriere as we explored the many beaux villages in the surrounding area. Chris provided all the needed information on website and with guide and brochures provided at the house. Large well equipped farmhouse kitchen. We only used for making coffee and eating pastries each morning because we were on the road much of the time. We did love having the large kitchen table for spreading out maps and brochures as we planned the next day itinerary. Great shower on lower level and bathtub on upper floor. Wi-Fi was spotty but we were told that in advance given rural location. Amazing patisserie in La Fouillade and a great little pizza place across the street.

A fantastic stay in an idyllic part of France
From the pre-arrangements to the checkin process with Pierre (who is such a great host) we were made to feel so welcome. The house is so beautiful, incredibly traditional but with tasteful additions all over the house. The pool is great, cleaned everyday and everything you need is there so it made our stay incredibly relaxing. There are so many nice places to visit within an hour of the property, but if you also want to stay at the house, eat food from the local markets, relax by the pool and bbq at night that’s equally as good. We really cannot recommend the property and hosts and we definitely intend to go back.

Haven of tranquility
Beautiful space with loads of room and a wonderful setting. The house was cosy, in a slight valley surrounded by lovely countryside. The downstairs space is open plan with a wonderful fire that kept the house warm 24/7. Quiet in a rich rural setting it is the perfect getaway for some proposer down time. For the adventurous there are bike rides, horse riding and plenty of good runs .

Perfect sejour in the Aveyron countryside
Another visit to La Peyriere, Chris kindly provided access to the house for a long weekend. We were very lucky with the weather and had a marvellous 3 days of sunshine, we bathed in sun for lunch at St Antonin market and had some lovely walks in Bor et Bar. We would recommend taking a trip here outside of peak season, long evenings by the wood burner were so relaxing!

Winter holiday at La Peyriere
We (two families of 4, with children aged between 8 and 12) had a great Christmas holiday at La Peyriere. It’s a very comfortable farmhouse, with bedrooms upstairs and downstairs and a warm, inviting kitchen and living room in between. The house is old, with charm and quirks, but all the modern appliances and very well-equipped. The location was quiet and beautiful, with good walks and tres beaux villages nearby (Najac was a particular highlight). Finally, Chris the owner and Pierre and Huguette, the nearby farmers were excellent to deal with, charming, helpful and unobtrusive. Thoroughly recommended!

Perfect antidote to city life
We came to stay with friends of ours to escape city life back in the uk, it turned out to be exactly what we needed. The owners have done a brilliant job creating a sanctuary from which to enjoy the amazing food and wine. The house is great for two families, split into two floors, with lots of social space for games, swimming, TV or lounging in front of the fire. We will be back for sure!

We had a great stay for 12 days in La Peyriere. Chris answered all my questions promptly and provide a guide pack listing local towns/restaurant recommendations etc. House was great and we spent many happy hours by the pool when we weren’t exploring the local area. Great holiday and would definitely recommend to anyone!

La France Profounde
Our family of six spent a week at La Peyrière and felt as though we could not have had a more profoundly authentic experience of the French countryside. While we did day trips to Albi, Najac, Cordes Sur Ciel, and even Toulouse, we loved spending time poking around the lanes and tiny villages just outside the door. Pierre and Huguette were lovely and catered a fabulous local meal of wild boar stew. We became gourmands of the local cheese, Gaillac wine, and in-season peaches and apricots. The home is both snug and spacious and had everything we wanted, especially a feeling of warmth and ease. Simply lovely.

Amazing house in beautiful countryside
Perfect for the family. Beautifully decorated house in stunning french countryside. Lots to do nearby. I loved the cycling, walking, trips to the villages and towns (like Najac) and coming back to cocktails by the pool. My 4yo daughter loved the house and picking flowers in the meadow. Chris (and the brilliant Pierre next door) was very quick to reply to any queries. Can’t recommend strongly enough, look forward to going again.

A great find!
We enjoyed a sun filled stay in October 2018 (yes, sun in October!) and can't fault the property. A wonderful outdoor space with heated pool to enjoy the sun and a warm and cosy house thanks to the fantastic wood burner by night! I even got to enjoy some road cycling out on part of the smooth Tour De France route. Heaven!

Wonderful family holiday in an idyllic setting
Two weeks of peace, tranquility and the occasional ping pong and pool tournaments! The setting is wonderfully off the beaten track but it is only a short drive to local shops and bars. The pool was brilliant in the hot weather, the pool toys great fun and we could have stayed in there the whole time. Lots of places to visit nearby, recommend the Najac night market, canoeing and tree top rope walks. And for a longer day trip for engineering nerds you can visit the Millau viaduct. Pierre and his wife looked after us really well and Pierre is a great source of knowledge for the local area. The house was really comfy and the downstairs TV room lovely and cool and a great place for all the family to watch DVDs whilst escaping the heat wave. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking for 8 and the cooker, dishwasher and washing machine all worked well (we have stayed in other cottages were all three have been a challenge!)The local countryside is beautiful - and hilly - and a great opportunity to practice your running and cycling before a well earned meal watching the bats fly in and out of the barn. Thank you Chris and family for the welcome pack and for sharing your cottage with us, when we next need space for my whole family we'll be back!

A French property with character - Highly Recommended
Just returned from a fantastic couple of weeks at this property. If you are looking for break away from the rat race for a week or two, then La Peyriere will definitely fit the bill. We flew into Toulouse and La Peyriere is a steady drive up the motorway and then a few local roads… ending up in some small lanes. We arrived in the late evening which didn’t seem to phase the local contact Pierre, who visited us on the first night to make sure we knew what’s what. The description/reviews on the property are accurate - La Peyriere is a very traditional French farmhouse, in a quiet location, with the usual quirks of an older building – think squeaking floorboards, wooden furniture and rustic charm. Happy to see that the usual “guest information/rules” notices have been kept to an absolute minimum, so the property keeps it’s homely character. That said, there was a very professional welcome book (also supplied electronically) and plenty of leaflets available for those all important days out to the local attractions – Cordes-sur-Ciel is definitely worth a visit. Just be aware that this is a traditional farmhouse in a rural location, so the local wildlife will come and visit; on our first morning it was very pleasing to see a young deer walk through the grassed area and on into the woods, and we counted at least six geckos around the pool area alone. However, all the windows had integrated insect screens, so could be left open to get the air through without any worries of letting anything in – just a shame they weren’t on the doors too. We travelled as two related couples, so the single shower room on the lower level didn’t really cause us any issue but if you are travelling with people you do not know so well, then you may need to take this into account, especially as there are two flights of stairs to negotiate from the upstairs bedrooms – there’s a certain knack at keeping your modesty intact when wrapped only in a towel! (Caution: the water gets very hot very quickly, so be careful with younger children!) The pool was a very welcome and refreshing addition given the ambient temperature was well above 30C most of the time we were there and there was a good selection of inflatables for the younger (or young at heart) guests. Sunbeds were made of good quality wood (far superior to the usual white plastic IMHO) and the umbrellas plentiful. Shame it such a distant memory... and its only been a week!

Beautiful French property with lots of added style to make it really comfortable yet traditional
Would highly recommend especially to families as there’s lots to keep the children occupied: from the pool to the snooker table. There’s also a selection of games provided in the cupboard in the lounge- couldn’t have asked for more!! Great, speedy contact from the owner and very accommodating with requests. Pierre was a wealth of local knowledge when he visited to tend to the pool. Fantastic outdoor BBQ and amenities provided in the kitchen. Will definitely return!!

The perfect place for a break from it all, in peaceful, very rural and stunning surroundings
We had such a lovely break at La Peyriere... late October and it hit 28 degrees! So with the pool still in action, we were able to enjoy it! The house is perfect for a country break, well equipped and comfortable. Chris sent us a fantastic information pack before we arrived, and we had such a lovely welcome on arrival. The surrounding area is full of beautiful villages, delicious restaurants and great markets. Can imagine La Peyriere is great in all seasons... for us, it was pool by day, roaring fires by night. Wonderful!

An delightful hideaway in bucholic countryside
I rented this lovely house for 3 weeks at the end of September/beginning of October and had friends and family visit during my stay to celebrate a special birthday. The house oozes charm and is well equipped. We made use of the wood-stove on some cooler evenings and even roasted chestnuts we foraged on our walks. The boulangerie at Lunac is a 30 minute walk away through quiet roads and a great way to start the day. We used the pool during the first couple of weeks in the afternoons after our morning trips. There are a number of lovely historic villages/towns within an easy drive and a train service from Toulouse to Najac after an easy bus ride from the airport to the train station…a number of my guests came by this route with a simple pick up at Najac. This is definitely a destination for getting away from it all. Pierre and Huguette who care take the property are very welcoming and helpful at all times. A great find!

We had a fabulous family break in this beautiful home. The house is a perfect location for exploring the surrounding areas and the pool itself and outdoor area was perfect for lazy afternoons with our children and friends. The house is extremely private with fabulous interiors and a perfect outdoor area and games room for eating out in the evenings. We highly recommend the house and will most definitely be returning with friends and family for the perfect get away in one of the most beautiful parts of France. This was most definitely one of the most relaxing house rental holidays we have experienced!

French perfection
We were looking for a place to stay with our parents and some friends, with 3 children in total. We found La Peyriere and had some questions which the owners answered very promptly, there was a fantastic guide they sent which gave us an idea of what to do in the area and more about the house. We soon realised we needed more than one week! The house itself is really well equipped and the furniture is lovely. The rooms are well sized and and the living room is really comfy, we'd love to come back in the winter and test the wood burning stove! The games room was a real winner for the kids, they spent many hours playing pool and table tennis, leaving us in peace, and all visible from the pool area. Pierre and Huguette looked after the house and were around almost each day to clean the pool and were super helpful. Pierre is a real character and made us feel really welcome, we felt we were part of the community for the week. It was very kind of him to show the kids around the farm and see his stunning cows. The house is well secluded, easy to miss from the lane which is what we loved, very peaceful and the nearest village has a nice boulangerie which is a 5 minute drive. My wife and I even took a brisk walk one morning, an hour there and back. The restaurants in Najac are stunning and the La Chataigneraie by the river is such good fun, live jazz every night! We'd love to come again next year, it's a real find! Luke and family.

Amazing house, perfect French holiday experience for our family. Back agin for two weeks next year!
Ohhh, where to start. From the beginning, a few months ago we decided to rent a house for a family holidays (6 adults, 2 kids), we wanted to see a region we did not know but also enjoy the comfort of a nice house. We found "La peyriere". Luckily for us, we received a quick and friendly answer from Chris that it was available. Before our stay, I exchanged a few times with Chris. Very friendly, we gave us a lot of details about the house and answered every question we had quickly. Last but not least, a few weeks before, he provided a homemade guide of the region and house. Very detailed and obviously very interesting ! As soon as we arrived, Pierre & Huguette welcomed us to the house. They walked us through a few details and left us the house to ourselves. We even had a little gift for the kids, Thanks again Chris, never had the chance to say it before this message. The house is amazing, very very well equipped and there is plenty of notes and details to make sure everything runs smoothly. Obviously we were there to enjoy the sun and the outside. Luckily for us we had plenty of good time in the pool (cleaned for us almost every day). Everything was perfectly furbished, the pool chairs were great, I think we never ate inside. I think I could go over and over, I just wanted to finish by the barn (pool table and ping pong table). It was perfect for the kids (and adults ;-)). Just a few words about the region. We knew nothing about it before reading Chris's guide and we finally did, almost, everything he recommended. Kayak in Najac was really nice and kid friendly... and Cordes sur ciel was stunning. Luckily for us it was not packed with tourists, and that's exactly what we wanted. Thank you Chris for everything. We had a great time, I definitely recommend the house to everyone who is looking to discover the region and enjoy the calm and the equipment of an amazing house.

Lovely house, all mod cons, fairly remote!
Spacious house with nice pool and games room. The bedrooms comfortable though a bit hot once the temperature reached the 30s! The boulangerie in Lunac - the nearest village was uninteresting - still a 8-10 minute drive away - much better in La Fouillade but that was a fair slog every morning and to go out for a good meal was a 45 minute drive. So it was lucky that the kitchen is kitchen so well equipped. We were very tired and luckily the weather was very good and so the children were quite content to spend most of the time playing games or swimming so for us, while this house is pretty remote, it was perfect on this occasion

Good morning Jervoise, Thanks for the feedback, glad you had a great stay. Some useful points, I will make a note to leave some info on the best route to Lunac (there's a small road which takes less than 5 minutes ;). There are 3 wonderful restaurants in Najac which is 20 minutes away, with lovely views and a Relais De Mont Viaur which is just 10 minutes drive. I will inform the next guests. Hopefully you had some time to explore the lovely 'Beaux Villages' nearby, we're lucky to be remote but also close to so many beautiful sites, villages and small towns. Have a great summer. Kind regards, Chris

Peace and tranquility near market towns and vineyards
We booked our stay for mid October as we wanted a relaxing and peaceful autumnal trip to rural France. The house was everything it promised and Chris was very prompt helping to get it all booked. On arrival we were welcomed by Pierre who was very welcoming. At night we made use of a wood burner to make the house really cosy and relaxing, by day the temperature was still touching 20degrees! Locally there are many vineyards to explore, excellent local shops with everything from farm produce to croissants. Nearby are towns with Sunday markets in true unspoilt French character. We had a great time and will be booking again!

A beautiful spot for a family holiday
Pierre and his wife were looking after the property during our stay, they were very friendly and helpful. We found the house lovely and spacious, with excellent living spaces. The open plan living area was great as was the tv room on the ground floor. Both had a nice feel. The outdoor eating space was well connected to the Kitchen and as such functioned well as an extension to the living space. We generally found the house very well equipped and with good quality furniture etc. which is not always the case with rented properties. Simple items that made settling in and living easier were things like the well equipped kitchen with lots of crockery, cutlery, utensils, pans etc. the wide selection of dvd's, wifi, the towel rails in the bedrooms, the fact there was things like soap in the bathrooms on arrival, useful hooks in the bedrooms for hanging things up, the information provided on things to do and places to go. Outside the games room was a really nice thing to have (the pool table needs levelling) The good quality sun umbrellas with the ready made holes, the quality sun beds, the comfy cushions for them and the pool were all great. We only found the pool lights half way through the week after asking Pierre where the switch was! Overall I would say it was a lovely property which was very functional and enjoyable to spend time in. We very much look forward to coming again! Andrew

An idyllic holiday in France, with something for everyone.
We loved our stay at La Peyriere - the house and pool were wonderful and the area was superb with just the right mix of activities and places to visit, together with relaxation in plentiful supply, suiting all our various needs. In particular some highlights spring to mind: the young adults/teenagers enjoyed the kayaking tremendously from Najac; we all enjoyed the night market at Najac and the jazz evening with special crepes was a lovely find too. The caves at Pech Merle were very interesting and thought provoking but the drive there was longer than we had expected so we abandoned a boat trip from near there on another day. All in all a very good time had by all - and we would highly recommend the holiday to anyone interested....and would love to try to book it again at some point.

Perfect Autumn escape!
This was return trip to La Peyriere and we had a wonderful time. It was a lovely time to come out of peak season for walks and touring the local 'beaux villages', the colour of the leaves and the weather made for perfect walking and lovely evenings by the wood burning stove. The markets of Villefranche and St Antonin were real highlights, great produce, especially the cepes! On our last day we also got to see the famous chestnut festival in Laguepie, what a wonderful day, great weather and amazing food, drink and atmosphere. The house itself is very authentic Aveyron, lovely open plan living area by the fire and a separate TV room for the kids, even the the heated pool was open which was a lovely way to start the day! A big thank you to the hosts who were very kind and provided plenty of tips of where to go and where to source the best food and wine.
