"Heritance Kandalama is set in a beautiful location and amazing lake views. Great hotel Interiors and views. Unfortunately besides the panoramic view from our room, the actual room itself was lacklustre to say the least. Bathroom is outdated with no amenities. Room furniture seems like a hodgepodge of items put together. Mattress and pillows had a smell, a few stains and felt old. Called the front desk/operator on a Wednesday night at 10:30pm and no one answered the phone for 25 mins. We had checked in at 930pm and promised they would deliver our extra rollaway bed and it took 1 hour to get it. Buffett dinner and breakfast spread has way too many options just to make it look full but the quality of the food was 3/10. Overall 2/5"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Queens Hotel. The property is beautiful, with its traditional colonial architecture and a prime location overlooking the lake and the Temple of the Tooth. The two-bedroom family suite was ideal for our family, offering plenty of space and convenient access to the surrounding shops, restaurants, and main streets. Each room was equipped with air conditioning, which was greatly appreciated in the heat and humidity, and complimentary bottled water was replenished daily. The laundry service was excellent—both efficient and remarkably fast. What truly stood out, however, was the exceptional level of service from the staff. They consistently went above and beyond, whether delivering extra water, showing our daughter how to make an elephant from the towels, or arranging for a pair of trousers to be professionally cleaned after an accidental stain. The facilities were also excellent. The pool and bar area provided a relaxing atmosphere, and the restaurant served a range of delicious meals throughout our stay. The only minor drawbacks were the low shower water pressure, which made washing long hair somewhat challenging, and the noticeable noise from traffic and crows during the night. Light sleepers may wish to bring earplugs. Overall, we would highly recommend the Queens Hotel. Its combination of character, location, facilities, and outstanding service made for a memorable stay, and we would gladly return in the future."

Amaya Lake Dambulla

"A beautiful resort situated on lake Dumbulla. Very peaceful and quiet with wildlife all around. The swimming pools were exceptional, clean and perfect temperature for the heat and humidity - we could stay in there all day! All the staff are super helpful, friendly and go above and beyond in anything that was asked. Being close to the Rock Fortress was great to be able to get there early before sunrise. Highly recommend staying here."

The Golden Crown Hotel

4/10 Poor

"Feel cheated by both the Expedia as have done booking for 4 and taken half course which is break fast and one meal where as the voucher shows only for 2 adults. The worst part is property manager knew that the voucher had written 2 but they didn’t inform us that the meals are there for 2 only and when we checked out raised a bill for meals of $140 whereas I paid $80 already for the same . Wasted almost an hour and later have to pay $100 extra . Really sad part, it’s not about money but the conduct."
