Fall Getaway at Firefly Cove
My husband and I enjoyed staying in this Firefly Cove condo on Lake Lure. The property is in a lovely neighborhood with views of the lake from the porch and is convenient to area restaurants and attractions. The condo is beautiful and the kitchen well equipped. Having the opportunity to explore the lake by kayak was an added bonus. Although we were made aware there was no internet prior to booking, WiFi in the condo would make it easier to make reservations, tee times, and obtaining directions/information without going downstairs to the lodge as there’s no cell phone service. Otherwise, our stay was perfect in every way.

These days, if you're going to consider your property a "luxury vacation rental," you need to provide wi-fi. Having to rely on service from downstairs is not satisfactory. In addition, the couch in the living room is extremely uncomfortable. It sits like a rock.

We missed the leaves but enjoyed the lake
The week before Thanksgiving has historically been a peak week for leaves on Lake Lure; but between hurricanes and extra cold weather, we missed most of the leaves. No matter, has a good time in Asheville, Hendersonville, Chimney Rock and the AVL Outlets!

The Allure of Lake Lure- 202 Firefly Retreat July 14-21, 2022
The property exceeded all our previous rental experiences. It was a beautiful and immaculate condo. It was well supplied to get through the first day or so. The kitchen is first class and fun to cook some meals in. We also used the gas grill by the pool to prepare some meals. The host was generously accommodating with extra supplies to make our stay very comfortable. There is an Ingles grocery store pretty close to the property. It is a very nice and upscale grocery store with all kinds of food and salad bars. It was the opposite direction from coming in byway of Asheville. One of the locals told us about it. If you don’t want to cook the restaurants were great and everyone is friendly and supportive of all the community sites and activities. The checking in process was a little confusing but we figured it out because the instructions were great. I encourage taking the guided tour boat ride on the lake early in the week. We were not familiar with the lake at all and the experience was very pleasant and informational. We also enjoyed the Firefly Cove property amenities like the lake, pool and billiard table. The apartment has a cleverly located back door for easy pool access or outside to a lakeside walk. The bed was very comfortable! The property was quiet and inside It is very well sound proofed. The only problem we encountered was a dead dishwasher. When I left I was told the switch to it was located beside the stove and it accidentally got turned off. It would be nice to label it so that doesn’t happen to anyone else During our stay, besides the dishwasher mishap everything was perfect!

Escape from Reality
The property and surrounding houses were lovely. This is a definite choice if looking to unwind and unplug. Sitting outside was so peaceful and quiet with only the creek and birds to be heard. The view of the lake was very tranquil. The swimming pool was clean and very inviting after a day of hiking at Chimney Rock State park. The rental unit was very clean and cozy. Please note that you will be totally unplugged because there is no cell service and the Wi-Fi connection did not work in the rental unit (as explained in listing).
