Perfect location and view! My only complaint is it could be a little cleaner. It was very dusty and had a few spider encounters inside the home. Host was very responsive. Loved spending time on the screened in patio.

My wife as well as her three children and two of their spouses. Three of our grandchildren had a wonderful time together. I really enjoyed taking out the pontoon boat really wish we could’ve stayed longer!

Incredible place!
Oh the views....magical! Loved the Enchanted Cottage and all it had to offer. Having a boat was def nice! Kids used the downstairs area which gave my wife and I space and some quiet time upstairs. Views from everywhere were incredible. Quiet and private but still close to CR and the store. And we saw a bear two houses down while cruising on the boat! Really nothing to complain about besides some bug bites. Def recommend!

Great Lake trip with the family!
Everything was great! We had my family of 7 and everything was just perfect except for the weather. We got a lot of rain. Regardless, the property was great and we had a great time! Highly recommend this place and Bruce was great and easy to contact. Would definitely book again!

Lake Lure view was perfect
Property was in a terrific location. Rooms were fine and clean. Bathrooms were adequate. Kitchen was well appointed with very nice dishes and glassware. We lived on the screened in porch and loved it. We enjoyed S’mores on the fire pit and use of the grill in a lovely setting. The boat was a great option for seeing the lake and waterfront homes. We also enjoyed going out to eat via boat. The boat could have been cleaner, cup holders were gross. The sun deck was under construction but would have been delightful. The tram was important for 6, 60+ people, one of which had recently had a hip replacement, unfortunately it broke a few days into our stay. The host was nice and tried to accommodate us as best as he could.

Winter Cottage Retreat
We had such a beautiful stay at the cottage. Lake Lure is so serene in the cooler months and the view never disappoints. Bruce was an amazing host. Everything was just perfect. So many areas for everyone to have their own space while the fireplace crackled. He even left the canoe out so we could take dusk and dawn trips around the lake-it was beautiful! Mornings on the porch with coffee, late day red wine by the campfire-and plenty of blankets and comfy beds to snuggle up.Just what my overwhelmed city soul needed. Thank you Bruce..We will try to make back in the summer to try on that pontoon boat :)Great experience!

Beautiful porch views
Our family had the most wonderful time at the Enchanted Cottage. We had plenty of room to spread out in the house and the large kitchen table fit our group just perfect without feeling overcrowded. We had made delicious meals together. We spent a lot of time on the porch watching afternoon storms roll in and sipping coffee in the morning. We worked on a 1000 piece puzzle at the porch table during the week and finished late Friday night. A tradition of ours. Having access to the pontoon boat was such a treat and we toured the lake with our adult children and grandkids. We enjoyed after dinner boat rides to watch the sun set. Just gorgeous views. We used the kayaks and balance board and kayaks and spent a-lot of time just swimming and jumping off the lower deck. We brought fishing poles and caught sunnies. The house was very comfortable and well stocked with everything you need in the kitchen. We just brought food and drinks. Some places we rented, you needed to bring everything including your own sheets and towels! Not here, bedding and towels and paper goods were all provided. The beds were very comfortable. Bruce was very responsive to any questions and texted or emailed you right back. Very organized. We had the most wonderful experience and created many memories. Loved loved our stay here.

Breathtaking Vacation Destination
Lake Lure is absolutely breathtaking. The warm water. The wooded mountains rising dramatically from the water's edge. The gorgeous sunsets. The peace and tranquility. And the enchanted cottage is a perfect place from which to take it all in. The cottage is perhaps a bit smaller and less grandiose than a number of other rentals on the lake but the included boat, the convenient funicular and the location make it a great value. We were unpacked and on the water within 45 minutes of arriving. The cottage was comfortable for our family of 6 and we had a great time.

Easy Peasy w/ its own "train"!
Let's see: where to start? Your first experience when you arrive is riding a funicular, which seats four comfortably. Kids love it. You arrive @ the fire pit and the lake is a little ways below. The house is older, but who cares? Very well equipped & functional kitchen; in fact, everything works well. This was our 7th year @ Lake Lure in 6 different houses and Enchanted Cottage was probably the most fun. Hard to say why some houses have a "vibe" & some houses leave you cold. This one was perfect!

Outstanding view!
We've been going to lake lure for several years, each time staying at a different house. This property was by far our favorite. Plenty of room, a nice boat. The tram is essential, allowing seniors to get to the house without the use of stairs. The location is close to the marina and restaurants as well as Chimney Rock.

Best weekend ever
We were there for our wedding and while we didn't get married at the property it was the perfect place for us to relax and enjoy the lake. Everyone loved the cottage and the views from the decks. The pontoon boat was the perfect thing to explore the lake and see more beautiful views.

Enchanted is an understatement
We came with a group of 9 ladies to celebrate my bachelorette weekend. We wanted something relaxing where I got to just hang out with my best friends and family for the weekend and the Enchanted Cottage fit that bill. It was absolutely amazing! The views are to die for, the property is large enough that you don’t feel like you are on top of people at all times, and the use of the boat & water sports equipment are the cherry on top of a magical stay. Do yourself a favor and book this place - you won’t regret it!!

Retro/rustic Lake Lure cabin
This lakefront cabin on Lake Lure is in a great location, which makes driving into town a breeze. It’s one of a handful of VRBO’s that comes with the use of a pontoon boat, which is a big reason we rented this property. Unfortunately, there was an issue with the “starter” on the boat, so we weren’t able to enjoy cruising during our stay. But it’s important to note that Bruce sent someone over twice to try to get the pontoon up and running. When that proved impossible, Bruce immediately refunded me a portion of the rent to compensate for the inconvenience. If you’re looking for rustic accommodations (traditional cabin atmosphere), this place has that “vibe”.

The Enchanted Cottage was just that!
The home has all you need except your food. Kitchen is stocked well, plenty of rooms, check in and out process easy, the view is priceless. I really loved the vanicular! Great for senior citizens. I highly recommend this vacation home.

10 out of 5 stars!!
The Enchanted Cottage at Lake Lure is truly enchanted. We were six BFF's wanting a girls weekend at the lake and this cottage was absolutely perfect. Full of charm, this rustic cabin has gloriously beautiful views and plenty of space. The cabin was stocked with everything you could possibly need...and I mean EVERYTHING. We spent time at the long dining table eating and drinking before laughing the night away in front of a cozy fire. We watched several movies on the smart tv's both upstairs and downstairs. We spent our last night outside at the firepit with the wood our host graciously left us and had a fabulous time. Our host was also readily available to help with any issues we encountered while we were there.(We really only had one and that was our fault when we were leaving.) We were sad to leave this magical cottage by the lake, but the memories we made there will last a lifetime. If I could give 10 stars I would. Thank you!

I am so sorry you felt this way about our cottage. We do use regular pest control but in the mountains, in the winter, it is incredibly difficult to keep pests out. We will look into this situation immediately.

Charming cottage in the woods
We really enjoyed our stay at the enchanted cottage - the location is perfect and the view is beautiful. The owner was so nice and very responsive to any questions I had. The cottage is stocked with anything you may need. Will definitely stay here again when we go back to lake lure.

A gem by the lake … boat ride away from million dollar view
We had the best experience at Bruce’s Enchanted Cottage. From riding down the gondala (or as my nephews called it the “forklift”) and swimming around to the complimentary pontoon boat and spectacular views - we enjoyed every second at this gem and didn’t want to leave. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful Family Adventure
The house was plenty big enough for us all to have space, yet come together to enjoy precious family time of games, fires and family dinners. The lake and view are simply stunning. The use of the pontoon boat was a very sweet addition which we used daily. The staff and owners were very communicative and welcoming. We thoroughly enjoyed our family adventure on Lake Lure.

I'm sorry about the spiders, but we are in the middle of the woods during late summer - peak spider season. We try to clear them out, but it is almost impossible this time of year.

Great week!
Wonderful property, we'll be going back for sure. Kids got a kick out of the funicular and the pontoon boat. It was a little chilly that week, but we were still able to get out on the boat. Very close to shops and restaurants in Chimney Rock, and only about 10 minutes from the Ingles grocery store. Day trips into Asheville and Black Mountain were fun.

Loving Lake Lure
We were looking for a rental property with a great view on the water and a quiet atmosphere, all of which we found at the enchanted cottage. The cottage was very clean and welcoming. The layout of the house is cozy. We especially enjoyed the upper level screened in porch. Having the pontoon boat available for use was a definite plus as well as the kayaks and added to our enjoyment of the lake. The kitchen was well stocked with nice cookware and utensils. The owner provided plenty of information about the cottage and was very prompt in responding to questions. We would certainly return to the cottage and recommend it to our friends.

Everything regarding reservation, up-front communication, etc was excellent. I especially enjoyed the videos Bruce sent in preparation for the stay. The unique funicular was pretty cool and an almost "must" for seniors. The cottage is rustic....about what I'd expect for a lake cottage (tree trunks form the supports for the screened-in back porch). The 4 bedrooms are adequate but not at all large, . Of the two entry level bedrooms, one has it's bathroom in the hallway. It's a good size. The other bedroom had a VERY small bathroom within--about 3 ft by 8 ft--pretty crowded. The upstairs living area wasn't real large, but it was cozy and the gas fireplace was nice. The screened porch off the main floor was huge and probably had the most scenic view on Lake Lure. Downstairs was pretty good-sized with two bedrooms and a decent size bathroom w a foosball table and tv. The pontoon boat was a great asset. The upholstery is stained but it's clean to the touch. Our biggest complaint about the place was the job the cleaners do...or don't do. The bathrooms, kitchens, and carpets are pretty clean but the cleaners seem to limit just what they really "clean." There were spider webs/cobwebs inside of most bedroom windows and all over the porches. These don't happen in a few hours. Window sills don't get cleaned either and the wives had to dust off the dining room tables, lamps, and other areas. I pulled out the couch seat cushions looking for a tv remote and was appalled by all the pretzel pieces and other 'crumbs' that respectable cleaners should have taken care of. However, this isn't specific to this place. We've seen the same thing at other LL VRBO's. The customer is paying a hefty fee for cleaning that is simply incomplete. These folks need to be held accountable by homeowners. To summarize, we've stayed at newer and more upscale places but there's a price to pay for that. The Enchanted Cottage is a quaint rustic place w a great view and a boat for your stay... all for a fair price.

Another amazing stay!
My family and I stayed at The Enchanted Cottage for a week and had an absolutely fantastic stay. The pontoon boat was a ton of fun, and the kids got a lot of use out of the available SUP and kayaks. This was my second stay, and once again the house was well stocked, very clean and safe, and an awesome escape for vacation. We will definitely be back again!

Bruce’s home was perfectly suited for my large group of friends. The outdoor space was the feature of the home, and it’s really tough to imagine a better view than the one you get off the dock. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and would love to return.

Awesome location on the lake with spectacular views. Plenty of space for the kids to hang out downstairs while adults relax on the screened in porch. Kitchen is small but has everything you need, and we took advantage of the grill available.The host was very responsive and helpful, and the boat was great to have. I would highly recommend. My only complaint is that we couldn't stay all week because it was already booked!!!

Our family cannot say enough wonderful things about our time at Lake Lure and The Enchanted Cottage!! From the welcome music and a bottle of wine to the amazing mountain and lake views, everything was spectacular! The VRBO description and pictures are spot on, and it’s the perfect place to get away from the real world and relax. We look forward to returning to The Enchanted Cottage!
