Lovely Stay
We had a lovely time in this chalet in the woods. Everything was as described. Neighborhood was QUIET which is exactly what we were looking for. Close and easy drive to lake Placid for supplies. We thoroughly enjoyed the deck and the screened in porch was a very nice bonus. The cooking pots and pans could use updating - all are quite scratched up. Water pressure was good in shower. Communication with the host was terrific. Main bedroom is downstairs and as long as anyone staying upstairs is ok with the spiral staircase, it is a solid choice. Would definitely stay again and recommend.

Great house within minutes of all attractions
We stayed in this house with our two daughters (ages 9 and 12) over the President’s Day break. The house has everything we needed and is very well kept. The location is within a few minutes drive from all Lake Placid has to offer. We really enjoyed our stay here and highly recommend this property.

Adirondacks Get Away
My friend and I go to Adirondacks every year to hike the high peaks and enjoy the area. This cabin was perfect to accommodate us and the location was great with close access to trails and Lake Placid conveniences. The cabin is in a scenic and peaceful setting. I recommend.

Lovely stay in the mountains
We had a great trip! Enjoyed how peaceful and quiet the home was, yet conveniently located near town. It's perfect if you're looking for a more rustic accommodation and OK with a spiral staircase leading to the top two bedrooms. They home had everything we needed!

Very nice little place
The property was very nice. A few cobwebs but no big deal. The grill was only operable on one side. Again no big deal. Plenty of refills for everything, paper towels, toilet paper, soap, towels etc. This was much appreciated. I would return but if you have tall or bigger people with you, the upstairs may be difficult. Nice place overall. Thank you for the stay.

Everyone happy including the dog
.It is a sweet place. Size is perfect for 5 adults. It was great to have 3 comfortable full or queen size beds. Gas fireplace heats the place quickly on a cold night after skiing. Walking the dog in the neighborhood was pleasant. We would definately stay agian.

What a way to spend fall break relaxing away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Chalet was perfect! Had everything we needed and the fire pit was an added bonus on the chilly nights. Lake Placid get-away
The property was just as described. The proximity to the village, a quiet neighborhood, and pet friendly made for a perfect stay. The drive into the village was highlighted by the olympic ski jumps slowly appearing above the trees. The chateau was well-stocked and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Quiet Getaway
My wife and I came to Lake Placid for the fall foliage, and the Chalet was perfect for our adventure into the area. The house had everything we needed for our comfort. The day we arrived was quite cold and the gas fireplace was a welcome addition. The weather was perfect (fall temperatures). The chalet was well stocked and had everything we needed. The spiral staircase was no problem to navigate. The chalet is in a quiet neighborhood just outside the town of Lake Placid. The stars at night are so vivid you feel like you can reach up and touch them. The fire pit was perfect after a day of exploring. We hiked the High Falls Gorge, then had lunch at the Cafe. And the day trip to Ausable Chasm was well worth the drive. I would recommend this Chalet to anyone interested in exploring the beautiful Adirondacks.

Father's Day and Birthday celebration
Beautiful property and home. Wonderful surroundings. Locals were very nice and friendly. The rental had everything and more for your needs. Wonderful screened porch, plus huge front open deck and really nice fire pit area with Adirondack chairs. Just perfect! Plus pet friendly..it doesn't get better than this. We would highly recommend. What an amazing way to get to know Lake Placid. Very comfortable clean home, tastefully decorated. My family and I came up for a Thanksgiving getaway. This was probably one of the best Holidays we’ve had in a long time. Our friends were able to join us and the seven of us slept comfortably. The cherry on this sundae was the snowfall which turned this diamond into a winter wonderland.

Great Location!
This chalet is in a great location. It's close to town and all the sites. Everything was within driving distance. It was nice to have a place away from the traffic and people. It felt like camping - we had campfires, it was private and quiet. The house was very cozy and had all amenities. I would stay here again!

Perfect Lake Placid Getaway
We very much enjoyed our stay. Great house to relax in after a day at Mirror Lake. Also, very convenient to get to surrounding spots like Falls Gorge, Whiteface gondola and downtown Lake Placid. We enjoyed the fire pit, and our two sons loved having the upstairs to themselves. We highly recommend!

Perfect family vacation
Super easy check in, and John couldn’t have been more helpful answering the questions I had ahead of time. The house is extremely clean, and very well stocked. We spent almost a week with our 6, 8, 10 year old humans and our favorite 1 year old pup. It was definitely one of the top 2 most relaxing vacations ever. The town is a close 8-10 minute drive, and has the best vibes. The Olympic jumping center is only a couple minutes away, and this house was centrally located to all of our other plans for the week (Whiteface hiking, Ausable Chasm, High Falls Gorge, Saranac Lake, etc.). I can’t even explain how delicious the nearby corner store/deli is, and the restaurants along Main Street were super good. The busy days and relaxing nights around the perfect fire pit were truly peaceful. We would’ve extended our trip in a heartbeat if it wasn’t booked (we checked). We would all definitely come back!

This home was great and in a perfect location - a short drive to town, about 20 mins to Whiteface, very close to the ski jumps and about 20 mins from Van Hoevenberg. Kitchen had everything we needed. Very cozy, clean and updated chalet. Would love to return in nicer weather to enjoy the great screened in porch and fire pit! Highly recommend.

Easy check-in to the house. Large kitchen/dining and living room with gas fireplace made the area nice and warm. Three bedrooms and two bathrooms made things easy for everyone. Screened porch was not used this time, but it would be great in warmer weather. The grill was available even in colder temperatures--bonus!

Great Adirondack stay!
Our family had a lovely time at this property. It was nice and close to most Lake Placid/ADK activities, and the space was relaxing and perfect for our needs. It is certainly has a well stocked kitchen, and I love that it has a cabin/woodsy/ADK feel without being tacky, over the top, or feeling underwhelmed. A lovely getaway for a much needed break regular life in 2020.

Great property & house
No peace and quiet whatsoever. Had to close all windows, doors and skylight to sleep at night. The back neighbor had a continuous loud party For our entire time there. 25-30 cars every night, professional DJ, bouncy house, Pool parties, Karaoke, and best of all professional fireworks at 9:00 on Saturday night directly over our rental. Overly Loud and obnoxious. Compressors running, lawnmowers, screw guns, hammers, yelling. Not the quiet ADK getaway we waited for all year along. Loud music was unbearable. I can tell you, They do like Bob seager, bruce springsteen and billy idol playing at 70db. Will stay in Wilmington next time

After several years of homeowner complaints about our neighbor running a construction business in this residential neighborhood, he was forced to relocate his business downtown and put the house up for sale. We had a great time at the chalet, had over a foot of snow and just really enjoyed it all. Gas stove was great at keeping the house warm and kitchen was stocked. Beds were a little stiff but we really enjoyed our time overall

The reason I give this property a 3 star is primarily due to the mattresses. My daughter and I didn't receive a single good nights sleep which caused us to be very tired and irritable each day. I have stayed in Lake Placid every December for the last 5 years and unfortunately this was our only bad visit. In addition, the Chalet does need some repairs/upgrades, too campy.

Wonderful Thanksgiving at the Charming Chalet
We had a wonderful stay with 5 adults and 3 dogs. We enjoyed dog walks around both the neighborhood and Mirror Lake. We had a wonderful feast in to give thanks and enjoyed downtown.

Nice location off the grid, but close to town
I was looking for a place somewhat off the grid that offered privacy in a woodland setting, but also provided close access to trailheads and the restaurants in Lake Placid. This was perfectly situated for our needs. Recommend without hesitation.

Chalet on Quail
The Chalet was great for our two week stay in Lake Placid area. Liked that it was a bit away from the village but still close, and River Rd is a great place to bike. Also got us closer to Wilmington and the hikes and restaurants there. The house was comfortable and well-equipped with everything for the kitchen etc. The beds were comfortable and living space great - really like the large deck and screened porch. Minor details - the spiral staircase for the 2 upstairs bedrooms could be challenging for older people or very young children but was unique. The upstairs shower pressure / shower head was low and hard to use....the downstairs bathroom was great. The neighborhood with dead end streets was easy to walk the dogs and reduced traffic. However, the heavy equipment/trucks starting up next door at 7:00 AM on weekdays ruined the tranquility but thankfully only lasted awhile until they left for the day. Otherwise it was a great two week vacation!!
