I thought long and hard about this review and discussed it with my husband, my mom and my friend who joined us on this trip. Don’t get me wrong, the house is gorgeous and it had a lot of space and we were very comfortable. We really liked the decor, the views, the location. The beds were comfy. Lots of pillows and blankets. My husband and I have a business, so we take reviews very seriously as we value the five star reviews that we get for our business. We have never gotten anything less than five stars so when I saw that this home had all five stars I felt really bad about giving them less. Unfortunately, I cannot give this place five stars. The description on VRBO describes the home as lavish yet they offer the cheapest toilet paper I have ever seen. My in-laws buy Dollar Store toilet paper, this was worse than Dollar Store toilet paper. The hand soap in the bathrooms was very runny almost as if they added water to it stretch it out. The home boasts having two televisions with cable so people can split up and watch different things, however the TV in the living room does not have cable and it is very small. My husband wanted to watch the game so he is in the family room watching the game on the big screen( because it had cable) and the three girls are in the living room trying to watch a movie on this tiny television. We couldn’t watch the movie because we couldn’t see the subtitles. The next night we rented some DVDs to watch in the family room only to not be able to find the DVD remote and when my husband tried to operate the DVD manually it wouldn’t work. It would’ve been nice if both televisions had cable and both televisions had smart TV capability. The Wi-Fi was virtually non existent. For most of the trip all four of us had difficulty connecting to the Internet on our phones. Lastly, the power went out our first night there. We didn’t know if it was just our house or the whole neighborhood that was w/o power. I texted the homeowner to advise the power was out and that the local power utility company‘s website did not have updated information and that when I called I got a voice message that said they were closed until Monday. The homeowner suggested that I leave a message and perhaps somebody will call us back and that she was sorry but she didn’t know. I asked her to login to the utilities website so she could report the outage and see if she could find out any information for us. She did. But only after I brought up.
