Lakefront w Dock-Pets OK-Amazing Views-Large Deck

  • Take a break and unwind at this peaceful, lakefront oasis surrounded by mature trees. The second story porch offers plenty of room for outdoor dining with views of some of the best sunsets on Chautauqua Lake.



    You'll enjoy close to 100' of lakefront on Tinkertown Bay directly across from Chautauqua Institution. Bring your boat along to our dock (shared with neighbors) or roast some s'mores at the firepit next to the shore.  Firewood is provided.

    Dock install is scheduled for 5/2/26 and it is usually removed mid-Oct.

    You'll have access to the second floor living space which features an open floor plan with full kitchen, dining area and living room with queen sleeper sofa. A bathroom with shower and a bedroom with queen bed completes the space.



    The cottage is fully winterized and you'll stay comfortable with a mini-split system providing A/C and heat.



    The second-floor deck has been recently expanded with Trex decking and mahogany railings. We kept the hemlock tree growing up through the deck for a unique, natural touch. A gas grill is conveniently located on this level.



    The lower level isn't rented out, but has storage space that may be accessed by our family.

    You'll have access to the second-floor living space and patios as well as the entire yard, beach and dock.



    The second floor is accessed by the outdoor stairs and is completely separate from the lower level.



    The dock is shared between guests, our family (we have a couple boats there) and our very friendly neighbors in the gray house next door. You may occasionally see some of our family members going out to the dock or down to the lower level storage if they go out boating

Nice place but very small and no sidewalks which causes you to track pine needles into house and on shoes, etc.. Great access to water. Recommend no more then 2 travelers max.

This was a great property to stay at! I couldn’t have asked for anything different. What stood out the most was how clean everything was and how friendly the host was; all our questions were answered promptly and the host was exceedingly helpful. Overall great place to stay!

Beautiful Cottage

The cottage was clean, modern, comfortable and had everything we needed! We enjoyed the views and relaxing on the deck! Our hosts were great communicators and we can’t wait to go back!

Property was cleanest short term rental I have ever stayed at. Eveything worked as it should. Beautiful view of Chautauqua Lake. Not a good bedroom for tall people with the slanted roof. We had an issue with the internet, but the owner had it fixed within 15 minutes and we had no further issues. We would stay here again.

Lake views

We stayed here for six days. It is a cute apartment with access to the water and lake views. The only problem with the place was the severely sloped ceiling in the bedroom and the tiny end tables. I hit my head several times trying to go to bed. The kitchen and bathroom were very well stocked. The deck outside was nice with a gas grill. My dog loved it so much she did want to leave- I had to carry her to the car! The area around the lake was fun to explore, especially the breweries and wineries. We would definitely come back.

My husband and I just got married over the weekend and wanted to wait until next year to take a big tropical honeymoon. We still wanted to find a place to go to immediately after our wedding that wasn't too far from Pittsburgh and spend some alone time together. I came across this listing and it sounded perfect. I had only heard good things about Lake Chautauqua and it is just as beautiful in person. This cottage is small, but perfect for 2 people. It does have a sloped ceiling which makes some spots difficult for tall people so you do have to watch your head. It is a great price for a place on the water's edge. We enjoyed the view from the dock and having a fire down by the lakeside. There are some great restaurants nearby also. We also visited Barcelona beach in Erie.

The cottage was actually hard to find. There are no numbers anywhere on the cottage or even a mailbox , we had to look at pictures of the cottage via the website to make sure we were at the correct location. We were sitting on the deck when a truck was driving through the property (I assume the owners, not sure) and they were taking a boat out of the water. It made us feel awkward, like we couldn’t leave the deck. Then grilling dinner on the deck and the truck and boat are now on the side of the deck. Not so private. And could never find the 1/2 bath that was stated in property details.
