Great cozy cabin!
Chris’ cabin is great! It’s in a perfect location between Land O’ Lakes and Boulder Junction. We easily jumped about to the best restaurants and art studios the county had to offer!

Good One-Week Rental
Overall we had a good week at Chris’ cabin. We had our 16’ fishing boat and there was plenty of room onsite for parking the truck & trailer. It was easiest to back in from the road rather than trying to turn around in the yard. We chose not to moor the boat at the pier to avoid trying to navigate around the stumps. The property is conveniently located only 2.5 miles from the public boat launch. The deck was very spacious and we were able to use the gas grill for most dinners. The king size bed was very comfortable and all linens were clean. There was an issue with the water iron filter and Chris responded quickly, but due to timing we didn’t have a plumber come while we were there. We are confident that Chris will have it resolved soon. We were able to manage with it while we were there.

Radar Run - Weekend Getaway
Everything was great!!! Chris was very responsive to any questions that we had....where to leave the garbage, etc. The home was clean!!! We didn't arrive until dark and needed to go to dinner, but wasn't sure if the heat would be turned up. It was so great to be welcomed with the lights on and heat ready to go!!! Cabin had the basic items that we needed. I would just suggestion hand towels and wash clothes. Great location! Planning on returning next year. Thanks Again!!!

We have stayed here multiple times both during the summer and winter. Always an enjoyable time for my husband and I along with our dogs. The view is always amazing and the stay is always without any issues. We will be back again soon!

Great cabin!
This rental was great. The cabin is beautiful and the fireplace was amazing. We went in November so we didn’t get to enjoy much of the outside or deck, but did just to see the lake! I’m sure it would be perfect in warmer weather. Owner communicated with us and was responsive to any questions. I would definitely recommend!

Great property and location
Loved the cabin and the location. The property is beautiful, cozy with the view of the lake and has its own small driveway which is perfect to hide a bit from the world😄 It had all the amenities and is perfect for 2-4 people. Our dog even had a blast there. Our favorites were having breakfast on the porch, enjoying the fire pit in the evening and listening to music. There are also some nice towns not a far drive away. Would highly recommend it and definitely going there again. Beware of mosquitoes in the summer though. They were brutal. Can’t do much about it!

Just what we needed!
We had a wonderful stay! The owner, Chris, was really easy going, immediately responsive, and very generous. The kitchen was really well-stocked (great bar++) and the house was clean. We managed to get in a couple of hikes in and let our dog run around to her heart's content. We will be returning next summer!

We had a wonderful stay at this property. We knew it was going to be a special place from the moment we pulled in. We were quite impressed by the gate on the driveway. The cabin was very clean, very comfortable and well stocked. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals (pots, pans, etc). The deck is huge with comfortable lawn furniture for star gazing on clear nights. The view to the lake is absolutely beautiful and we even got to see 2 otters playing on the pier! The property owner is very responsive to any communication sent to him. We will definitely stay here again.

Peace and Quiet with Huge Fireplace and Albums
My husband and I enjoyed our stay very much. We have friends in the area and it was great to see them. At night we enjoyed the fireplace and played records. Communication with Chris is excellent. He is very responsive. Please remember to bring your own Firewood. Place was exactly as advertised. Just go and enjoy.

Classic northwoods experience!
We had a very pleasant week long stay at this classic northwoods cabin. The owner was super responsive and communicative! There was one maintenance issue during our visit and it was dealt with promptly and thoroughly. We really enjoyed the deck and the wonderful lake views! Unfortunately, there was a construction site two lots over for the first three days of our stay (dawn to after dark). We were grateful it stopped on the fourth day, and understand there is nothing the owner or anyone else can do to control for this. We also had overnight visitors each night that nibbled our food and left little treats for us on the counter. This type of thing happens in the country, especially when the weather turns cool. There's clearly no infestation, just time for the seasonal traps to come out. We enjoyed the peace and quiet. Had private fires outside most nights while watching the stars. And took day trips to waterfalls, breweries, Lake Superior, UTVing, lots of fishing, and hiking. We mixed that will playing games, cooking, and reading back at home. Things that would bump this property up to a 5-star from our perspective: - A more well-equipped kitchen. If you are a cook plan to bring utensils, ovenware, and anything speciality or gourmet you will want to use. - An easier boat access. The approach to the dock is very tricky (although well marked). A major selling point for us was being able to dock our boat, but another boat was using the dock, which made for some interesting moorage. - One step up on the attention to cleanliness. The house was not dirty, but attention to small details like wiping the toothpaste off the wall, wiping crumbs out of the fridge, cleaning the fireplace doors so we can see the fire, and making sure all dishes are clean for the incoming guest would put the polish on this delightful and cute cabin. Thanks for sharing your slice of "up north" with us!

Cozy Cabin in the Woods
We loved the cabin in the woods. It was very private, quiet, and relaxing. Plenty of room for our dog to run. The owner, Chris, was quick to respond to any questions and had his caretaker, Pat, help us with gas for the grill when it ran out. The marsh was marked so we were able to get our boat in and out without hitting any stumps. Lots of wildlife to watch when you weren’t busy relaxing on the deck, listening to music, or fishing the lake. A little piece of paradise.

Very private and very very quiet
Nice updated home on the lake. Great lake view from the house and boat dock leading to the lake. Fishing was not very good. But plenty of room to let the dog run and have some fun in the woods. Lots of mature trees on the property and privacy is a big factor. Clean house and easy to keep clean. Comfortable outdoor furniture and a huge deck to enjoy your visit.

We were very happy with our stay. The place was perfect - clean, well maintained, and everything we needed was provided. If you plan to bring a boat it's a little tricky due to a lot of stumps at the end of the dock but it's well marked. We would definately rent here again!

We have stayed at a few different properties in the Northwood area for the last 24 years, this is by far the best we have stayed at. Chris, the host was wonderful at responding to any and all inquiries we had and in a very timely fashion. We were there with our dogs who loved the place as much as we did. It rained just about every day for some portion of the day but we were able to enjoy the deck and the chain of lakes. We will definitely be back again next year!

Great Place
We loved this cabin and the privacy. While there are neighbors on the one side they are great quite and friendly guys. The cabin has everything you need and the king size bed was one of the most comfortable beds we have ever slept in. The wild life near the dock is abundant. Snapping turtles, box turtles, muskie, crappie, loons, eagles, beavers and geese hatching on top of the beaver dam. Stars are amazing at night. We will be back again for sure!

Snowmobiling
Good location for snowmobiling, could drive right onto the lake from the property and connect with a main trail. Owner was easy to work with, needed a few coffee mugs and he addressed it promptly. Would stay here again.

Dirty and Not Ready for Guests
Arrived to a dirty house: used sheets on beds, half used water bottles on nightstands, living room carpet with food crumbs, bath towels covered in toothpaste spit, small curly hairs on shower and toilet. No instructions, contact information or keys provided. Reached out to owner via VRBO messages and he was unapologetic of the situation until receiving my photo proof. Property manager did eventually come get the dirty linens to launder. Unfortunately, there were only 3 clean pillow cases, 3 clean sheets and 1 clean comforter for a family of 5. We went to the nearest store and bought cleaning supplies and scrubbed the toilet, shower, bathroom sink, kitchen counters, appliances, sink, etc. Despite the listing saying “dishes and utensils” were provided, the kitchen is poorly furnished, yet we did find weed and a pipe in a kitchen drawer. The refrigerator was dirty and full of used food that was outdated. In addition, there were not any hand towels or wash rags provided. We only had 4 bath towels for 5 people (the listing states towels are provided). The toilet leaks a considerable amount of water through the ceiling and into the basement with every flush. While the location, landscape, fireplace and lake were picturesque and enjoyable – we ultimately decided to leave a day earlier than planned due to lack of cleanliness and uncomfortable sleeping arrangements. I sent several texts and messages to the property owner about a refund for the night we didn’t stay, but he has not returned any of my messages at the time of writing this review. I would not recommend staying here.

Sara Joe was a problemo from the first minute she arrived 2 hours early. Caretaker Pat who is close by was on the job immediately and on the way over....pine sole in hand with fresh linens and offer to do whatever it would take to ease Sara Joe mind......no such luck. Sara joes trip was ruined.....never mind the place has so many new things in the kitchen i don't even know what they do or what they are.....Ninja Blenders and Korrigs.....$600 smackers of pots and pans that i assure you will never be used by me to cook anything......the only thing i know how to make are reservations. I did immediately order the kitchen towels from Crate and Barrel that were as expensive as a small used Volkswagen because Sara had sent me a text she was leaving a day early because the cabin lacked kitchen towels and would like a refund....the text is being framed and will be next to the C+B kitchen towels at the cabin that will never be used......they are very nice. It a great place.......by the time you get here the stereo will have been upgraded and hopefully the weed pipe found.......we have new towels and really really nice bedding since Sara.......Give us a shot.....stay tuned. Such a cute remodel and a really charming cabin. The full masonry fireplace made it so cozy for chilly evenings reading and playing games. Comfy beds and plenty of room for the dogs to run. Great internet speed so my daughter could do her online schooling and husband could work. Relaxing and wonderful stay:)
