"Great spot for our home base to explore New River Gorge NP. House was well appointed and comfortable. Beds were comfy and the towels were plush - better than I have at home! Loved the decor. Perfect location for all our hiking adventures from the south end to the north end of the park. Just 15 minutes from Bridge. Highly recommend the Bridge Walk! Hope to be back to the area with some friends and will stay at this cottage again!"

"We loved Cardinal Cottage. Location was perfect for all the hiking and sight-seeing we wanted to do. The house was very cute, very clean, and very well stocked. It had everything we needed. Host was extremely responsive. The neighborhood is quiet with glorious trees and some wildlife to observe. We could not have been happier."

"We absolutely loved the stay here. Everything on the inside was very clean and everything that you would need is provided. The view of the river is beautiful and can’t wait to come back during the summer to enjoy the river. "We had an amazing stay, the location of the house was perfect, and we were in easy reach of all the hikes, climbing, and other activities we planned for the week. Everything was amazing until the area took a direct hit from a tornado knocking out power for the rest of the week. The manager did a good job of communicating with us about the power outage (this house does not have a generator) so the lack of power in the entire area was not what we hoped for on our vacation but is also not the fault...

The owners were very responsive and even accommodated late date changes. The house was great with a large yard (including a fenced in back yard and a fenced in section of the field for the dog). "This is a perfect rental. The owner, Mike, was terrific and very communicative. Due to a major storm event, the power was out in the area for over 24 hours and he came through to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible.
