“The room was amazing, Garden View. The room is so well appointed and has a coffee machine, bathroom is excellent with a large shower. The host is very accommodating and rises in the morning to supply you with breakfast at your chosen time. The pool is good, spacious and very clean, with lots of available seating around the pool. Thank you for a wonderful stay.”

“Very friendly and welcoming greeting on arrival. Our room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was good but be careful, the bath was very slippery, the shower however had good pressure and nice toiletries were provided. It is a period building and there was no AC but a fan was provided and due to the high ceilings the room was not excessively hot. The pool was amazing. Absolutely fabulous! We were encouraged to relax and enjoy the surrounding areas and make use of the……

“Beautiful gite with all the facilities you could think of. A lovely welcome package of bread, butter, jam, biscuits, tea, coffee, sugar, eggs and a bottle of sparkling wine. The hosts Fran and Johnny were on hand if needed and very friendly along with their lovely children. The gite was well decorated and very clean. The pool was extremely appreciated in temps of 42 degree.Could not fault anything. Would definitely recommend this holiday home to anyone. Local areas have lots to offer. We will……

“Lovely house with a lot of space pool and large area to play. The reason for the 3 star is because there were a few things which surprised us and cumulatively these did affect things overall. The oven in the main house didn’t work which was mentioned on the previous reviews in the book - it actually did but there was a flick of a switch needed so we spent the 1st 8days without in a self catering place. The air conditioning was not in the whole place as we had interpreted from the write up and the 2……

“Lovely cottage with excellent facilities. Very peaceful and surrounded by countryside. ”

“Tres bel accueil, calme et propreté. Je le recommande.”

“The farm house is wonderful, well equipped and plenty of space for the 9 of us. The locations is fantastic with the town a short walk away, where there was a Spar, brasserie & Indian restaurant (highly recommended). On arrival the pool was murky and dirty, and we had to clean the day bed sheets, the owner it got sorted with help from a local friend and the hoover was run daily. The air con is only in the main bedroom above the kitchen which was disappointing as the weather was 42 degrees and the……

“Wir hatten einen fantastischen Aufenthalt im Domaine du Grand Toutre! Der private Pool war ein Highlight für uns, besonders an warmen Nachmittagen, Die Gartenmöbel waren perfekt, um unseren Morgenkaffee in der Sonne zu genießen, Sehr empfehlenswert für einen ruhigen Rückzugsort!”

“Really lovely farmhouse amidst the beautiful Charente countryside. Very spacious, clean and well equipped. There were only 5 of us so two bedrooms were unused but even if they had been there was plenty of room for everyone. Very comfy beds, great showers and very welcome air conditioning although the house stays remarkably cool even in heat dome conditions ! The gardens, pool and barn are particularly lovely. Wendy the host was super friendly and helpful! We will definitely visit again”

“Beautiful house set within extensive gardens amidst the tranquil Charentes countryside. The House is comfortable, well equipped and full of character. The large garden is private and fully enclosed, with lots of quiet corners to sit and read or just admire the view. The fenced off pool area is excellent - and features ample seats. The Hosts were very welcoming and helpful. All in all this is a wonderful place for a holiday with friends or family in a beautiful corner of south west France.”

“We had everything we needed. Very well equipped and we were thankful for the air conditioning in the bedroomWe didn’t need the mobile air con downstairs”

“A wonderful grand period house with all mod cons, stunning surroundings, a lovely big pool and charming hosts. We had a brilliant week here as three generations of a family of 18. Plenty of space to spread out. Highly recommended! ”
