Mother/Daughter trip
My 19 year old daughter and I were coming to the area for a Blake Shelton concert and wanted to stay in LeClaire. The house was perfect, super relaxing and exactly what was needed. The area was great and locals extremely friendly. We quickly fell in love with LeClaire, can’t wait to come back & would love to again stay here. 10/10 recommend.

Great Place in a cozy the cozy town of LeClaire
Absolutely loved the place. The pictures are spot on. It's super cozy and charming yet much bigger than you would think. All the rooms are decent sized and well decorated. Also, a great location only a short walk from all the restaurants and shopping. We will definitely add to our list of must go again.

Amazing Best Friends Getaway
This was the cutest, coziest cottage! It was perfect for the 4 of us. We used the grill and deck one night and the firepit another night. Very relaxing and convenient walking distance to all the cool places on Cody Road. We would definitely stay there again.

River view
Quaint, cute and very clean and well appointed. Excellent view of the Mississippi River from various vantage points both inside and outside. Two en-suite bath rooms and a powder room. One glitch was that the entrance code that was provided was not accurate so we needed to contact the VRBO help line to obtain the correct entrance code. I do not know if that was an owner or VRBO issue, but hopefully that can be remedied in the future.

Birthday getaway
We always try to get away for a day or two around our birthdays. This was an absolutely adorable home with a great view. Although being on the river I think next time we will do it for my birthday so weather is warmer. The house is exactly as listed. Easy check in, fabulous spiral staircase, jetted tub comfy bed. The local restaurants are great, unfortunately the local grocery store is not. This place was really great we hope to come back soon.

Very cozy in a quiet neighborhood
The house was very cute and the family room was very cozy. Nice and clean and was very welcoming to our two small dogs with toys that they played with and a couple of beds they slept on. If you're up for hiking up a 45 degree incline there's a nice open park across the street to walk dogs or let your 9 year old run around. The only thing worth mentioning about the property is to access any of the sleeping areas you have to use the fairly narrow spiral staircase. It's super cool but my wife had a foot boot on due to an injury and it was a bit treacherous going up and down. Not a fault of the property though and it was clearly shown in the pics. Overall a great stay that we would do again. Thanks!

Nice place for family stay
Very cute place. Great views of river and lush green garden setting. Close to town and easy access to freeways. Train is close by but not too much of a bother. Screened in porch room was a great bonus space. Home was just as advertised.

What a cute place! It's set up for supreme relaxation in several different rooms. Everything about this place is awesome, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a getaway in the QC.

Weekend Getaway
This was my second time here and my husband's first. We had a wonderfully cozy weekend. It was a rainy, chilly weekend. We took full advantage of the fireplace and played board games and just relaxed. We absolutely will be back!

Anniversary get away
We stayed at the cottage for a few nights with our three dogs, although the weather was not the greatest we had a wonderful time just hanging out, relaxing, and watching the eagles fly over the river. Cute and cozy stay with a nice view of the river! Good amenities, won’t be disappointed. I will say that you must be aware it can be a little loud with passing trains but anywhere near the river you will have that.

Cozy retreat!
This home is everything listed in the VRBO description. The wonderful surprise was the extra touches like the seasonal decor and the personalized welcome sign. It immediately made me feel welcomed as if I was coming home. Very comfortable, with multiple outdoor settings for viewing the river. The owner was very quick to respond to my questions. I will stay here again!

Lovely cottage in LeClaire!
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay here for our anniversary! So many wonderful spaces in this house, and we just wanted to stay for as long as we could. The house is built into the side of hill so that every window faces the Mississippi River. We enjoyed the screened porch in the evenings and sitting outside with our coffee in the morning. Everything we could possible need was available to us. Kathryn (the host) was great to work with and always responded quickly (we had a little mischievous ground hog hanging around). I highly recommend this adorable cottage :)

Get away weekend with our dogs.
Property was as described and beautifully decorated. Downtown was about a 3/4 mile hilly walk. Enjoyed the downtown area-eating, drinking and shopping. Kathryn provided a bed, treats and a food and water bowl for our dogs. She was also kind enough to mail me an item left behind. Screened in porch was great for enjoying the evening. We would definitely return to this property for another weekend trip.

Very nice accommodations and well equipped kitchen. Beautiful view of river and had a wonderful time in LeClaire. Wide River winery was a favorite stop. Host was very welcoming. There are a few steps between rooms on the main floor so it would be a challenge if you had very small children learning to walk or elderly who have mobility challenges with steps.

Wonderful quaint river home
We very much enjoyed our stay. The property was clean and well stocked with cooking utensils. You do need to purchase ice which is no problem as there is a place just down the road. It was very easy to make meals for a family of four. There was amazing outdoor seating with great views of the river. The bathrooms had good pressure to the showers, although you might want to bring your own shampoo, conditioner and soap. A wonderful surprise was the great park with playground across the street. My elementary age children loved it. I can’t express well enough how adorable the home is… all of the little antiques and quaint details. We would definitely stay here again.

Charming Cottage
Lot’s of charm inside and out with a modern kitchen and baths, but older home charm with a stone wall, beams, etc. Perfect for 2 couples, if one doesn’t mind the full bed. Nice to have two ensuites, a main level half bath, two sitting areas inside, and a ton of outside sitting areas. We spent a lot of time at the fire pit, but during warmer months, the porch and other seating areas would be nice to use more. The decor and furniture placement makes for a comfortable rental experience. One person in the group could not walk great, but was still able to get to the fire pit down the hill a bit, and navigate the interior stairs as shown in the listing. Would rent again so could explore the LeClaire shops post-Covid.

The perfect cottage for a long weekend!
The cottage is absolutely wonderful and I would stay again in a heartbeat. The property description on VRBO was spot on with the real thing, so there were no hidden surprises. The property sits on top of a hill overlooking the Mississippi river so the views are breathtaking, not to mention extremely relaxing and peaceful. Inside the house, we had everything that we needed from the amenities to kitchen items, and they even have items for the furry children. The host kept in touch throughout our stay and offered assistance with anything that was needed, which was greatly appreciated. I would definitely recommend this hidden gem to anyone looking to break away for a nice getaway.

Quaint & Cozy Cottage
Our visit to LeClaire was exceptional, made even better by our stay at the Hobbit House Cottage. We found the cottage to be comfortable, warm and cozy. It is nicely updated, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed for a week long stay. The location is conveniently located with plenty of options for dining, shopping, entertainment and activities nearby. There is a park next door which was especially nice for exercising our 2 laborador retrievers. This is a beautiful property with exceptional views of the river from inside and several spots in the sizable yard. We hope to return again during warmer weather for another outstanding experience. Thank you, Kathryn for being such a great hostess and your warm hospitality!
