But, the towel rail did not work and the heating system was a bit iffy, so getting the right temperature was a bit of a trial; and the first day was pretty chilly. The staff member spoke clear slow french to make sure I understood ( but she also had very good English) the room was basic but had a sea view and air conditioning and toiletries so everything we needed. It is possible to swim across from the hotel ( we paddled) and a nice walk into the town centre/harbour Nice buffet breakfast the next morning and you could either sit inside or out on the terrace. The staff were lovely making it a nice relaxed stay , we would love to visit again"

"We stayed for 3 nights and had a relaxing break in this lovely seaside resport. The hotel is about a 4 minute walk from the seafront. It's opposite the railway station making it easy to get into La Rochelle (20 mins away) or a trip to Bordeaux for the day in the other direction. The trains are not noisy and the rooms are quiet. Breakfast at the hotel is a buffet breakfast around 15 Euros and it is superior to the breakfasts available at the seafront cafes. It's very good. The young guy on reception is very helpful and speaks good English. Thank you. The parking is easy too. Plenty of spaces in the layby along the road, by and near the hotel. I recommend it."
